2002 P5 Antenna Question

Hey mazda forums members, when I got my P5 it did not come with an antenna as it was stolen. The black base is still there with the gold hole in it and nothing else. I bought an antenna off ebay and the screw does not fit in the hole as the hole is not deep at all. Am I missing another piece or something?

Is part of the old antenna perhaps still threaded in?

That, or the ebay one may have incorrect fitment.

I am betting on the second one.

Newer model Corollas use the same thread pitch I believe.

I have an OEM antenna here if you want it. give me $1.55 (cost of a coffee) and pay for S&H and I'll sent it to ya

You can get a shorty antenna from a dealer for about $20 bucks. It's not that I don't want you to have mine, I want to be sure you are happy with the results. The OEM is quite a bit longer than the CX7 antenna you can get from the dealer for about $20. I've attached pics of both for comparison and if you want the part # for the CX7, let me know. The radio reception loss with the shorter antenna is hardley noticeable!

If you want the OEM I have, post a reply and I'll package it this weekend and let you know the S&H to get it to you. I'll send it via the cheapest form available to get it to you. After you post your decision, I'll send you an email requesting your civic address to keep it private.

An alternative to the CX-7 antenna is an antenna off an S2000 or Acura RDX/MDX. Should be the same part number for all 3 of them. Only cost me $12 in Edmonton, has the same look as the CX-7 piece.

I bought a shorty antenna off eBay for about $9 and it came with 4 different threaded attachments in different sizes and different threads. One fit perfectly and I love the shorty better than that long stock one. LOL!
