does anybody elses 2002 mazda protege run at 1500 when you first start it,,then drop down to 800 when worm,,is that a problem,,i changed iac and egr valve
My mazda 626 had the same problem, i could never get a proper idle out of it. It turned out that it was the intake manifold gasket! It stalled at lights and i thought i was driving a wild horse at times. It was a pain to install but once i got it in, no more codes popped up after i cleared the memory.....If you want to try to see if it is the intake manifold gasket spray some starter fluid gently in small squirts around it using the little red hose and if you notice a drop in pressure or rpm drop you know its that.
