Also my rear driver side brake leaks. If the brake fluid got to low would it cause air to go in to the clutch line?

Yes if the brake fluid goes low you can get air in the clutch line.

Try bleeding the clutch line and inspect the master and slave cylinder for any leaks.

Bled the slave cylinder. No air seemed to come out. Also no leaks in either master or slave cylinders. Any other suggestions?

How old is your clutch? (how many miles?)

It may be that the clutch is in need of replacement.

The clutch is original and the car has 177k on it. I agree it has lasted a long time. Thinking about a import motor and tranny, soon as I reach my new destination. Any one ever used one of the Japanese import motors?

in my protege 5 the throwout bearing started making noise at 143k miles changed clutch assembly/pressure plate ect. came as kit. the bearing was done, the pressure plate was a little weak as well. the actual clutch plate looked pretty good though still had material left. if your just going to do clutch do the flywheel as well its cheap ($50-80) and already exposed when doing clutch.

yikes! 177k miles on the original clutch? thats pretty awesome! :) ( i have gotten 155k once)

replace that bad boy soon, along with the slave cylinder and maybe the clutch line. I've replaced all that I've mentioned and it was a complete night and day difference. made driving that car tons of fun.
