Ok I sold my 320whp teg yesterday.I have $2000 extra from my sell after getting my wifr another ride. My wife drove my MSP for two years and have not had one problem out of it. I got her a Grand Cherokee and I am looking for the best mods that I can get for this amount of money for an MSP. I build and tune my own cars. I have never tuned a MSP but with everything that is availible now it doesn't look that hard since I have been doing nissans and hondas for years. I would like 220whp+ and slightly better handling that what it is now. I also live in a county where there are no emissions laws so take that into consideration. Any ideas would be great.

FMIC, Turbo back, turbo timer, boost guage, and wideband will put you around $2k. Maybe you can get a DSM AFC in as well with that much if you find some used stuff.

If you're patient and shop around here I think you could have 200 ish whp for two Gs.

Suspension wise, there is no point to do anything unless you going full coil-over, because the MSP allready has upgraded shocks, springs, and anti-roll bars. We know just how pricey c/o's can be too.

I would say find used parts!... DSM AFC (got mine for around 250) first and foremost. That will be plug and play with a great stock map.

Then that will allow you to get a Upgraded SMIC (can usually pick these up for 300ish), Vibrant J-pipe back exhaust (brand new its only 755.00 @ *************.com), and hard pipes (Can pick up brand new for around 400) Intake (got mine for around 150.00 used). This will leave enough money for upgraded Motor Mounts. Then you will be in the 200whp ball park safely.

You can look for a used FMIC setup for around 600 instead of the SMIC/hardpipe combo, there is one FS right now for 600+shipping. A very nice Hiboost fit.

Either way you should be pleased. Members on here rave about both.

i got a hiboost fmic kit, forsale for $600obo, thats saving you about 4-500... check it out in the forsale section...

I will probably have my Hi-Boost FMIC kit for sale also with a Greddy Type RS already relocated. I haven't decided if I feel like doing the work to take it off yet so... I will have my DSM AFC VII for sale though, just have to take it out of my car. Selling the MSP, just picked out a Black on Black Infiniti FX35 w/Nav. Time to get semi-grown up!

give me a total and I might do it on the hiboost fmic. I have to get my other g2 teg running with a new lsvtec conversion first so that I have something to drive while the msp is down. let me know

hasn't been mentioned yet, but the most helpful mod in my opinion is the Unichip! trust me its worth every penny, other than that, Im happy with every mod in every step i've taken so far, so I would say Exhaust, intake. hardpipes, or intercooler system. stick with the powerfull mods in my opinion, if you've got a budget for now, things like afc's are worth wasting your budget on.

with vibrant exhaust, Injen Cai, and unichip, boosting 10psi (boost controller comes with unichip, but you have to have high programed for 10, wouldn't suggest going higher without more mods) I was able to stomp some srt4's pretty easly.

is the unichip really that good? I mean, I have FMIC, intake and exhaust...stock boost tho, and I know for a fact I cant touch srt4's. I wasnt even thinking about killing srt4's when I get my new manifold and afc which will put me around 200-210whp.

SRT4's dyno around 240whp stock :S

Well on the highway ... the srt 4 might have more crank hp but with the unichip yea, you will be pulling balls. The stock tune is HORRIBLE. I have the afc and it does wonders though. I can't leave home without it.

ok, honestly, i have been through about every mod possible for this car. the BEST BANG for the buck you are going to get will be the following:

GT28rs turbo - 1100 or so.
Extra Intector Controller + injector - 250-300
Free flowing exhaust all the way back - 500 or so
Fuel Cut Defender - 75
Manual Boost controller - 50-90 depending
Make Your own Intake - 30-40 bucks

And eventually you want to upgrade your intercooler with hard pipes and a frount mount (can be done for 500-600 custom)

I know this turns out to be about 2500-2600 but this by far will give you the fastest MSP for the money.

of course you will need a boost gauge, and maybe borrow a wideband from a buddy when tuning your extra injector controller.

yes, I love the unichip. with just intake exhaust and unichip, I could walk all over an srt4. a guy I know used to have one and we tested the theory on high an low pulls of all sorts.
-it seemed like I didn't really get much out of my mods without the unichip. now after the fmic, I can beat an srt4 and chirp the tires in 3rd gear, all in stock boost. with the mods you have now, a unichip will really power your whole system and transform the car

simply, no.

people freak about internals because people have TOLD them intenals go at xxx who or etc... they havent actually lost them like I have.

Best bang for buck is what i said, period.

ill sell you my HiBoost FMIC kit and Injen CAI for $675shipped...let me know, new the fmic is about $900 and the injen cai is like $250...i take paypal, and can ship as soon as the money gets there..

Turbo back exhaust, Better stock mounted IC, Dsm Afc, wideband gauge. That would def get you in the game. Prob under 2k also. Some or most would argue in favor of a front mount ic.

im sorry man, but thats the dumbest advice i've ever heard... the stock turbo is more than capable of producing enough power to blow the stock engine. why waste a grand on something that doesnt need to be upgraded until down the road with a built block?

also to the original poster- the msp is known for its handling. why would you want to waste money on making it a hair better when that money could go towards something productive (like a power mod)

I agree on the used parts, but a DSM AFC will NOT be plug and play.
