2.25" vs 2.5" cat-back exhausts for an N/A buildup. which one is better?

the larger the diametre, the larger the hp gains up in the rpm range but one loses torque down low.

which exhaust would be better if i planned on installing new intake/exhaust cams, hi-comp pistons, and hi-flow downpipes/cats?

would the 2.25" exhaust (magnaflow catback specifically) be that bad for engine breathing? or should i go with the 2.5"?

If you go to the Dynomax website they have (or used to have) a table that shows the specific exhaust diameter in regards to displacement and power output. basically, a 2 litre naturally aspirated engine that makes up to 200 horsepower (at the crank) does not need an exhaust diameter that exceeds 2.25 inches. You are right in the sense that 2.5 inch will give you a couple of HP at super high RPM (literally a couple), but it will totally kill your HP and TORQUE everywhere else.

well, it's a good thing that i'm getting that 2.25" magnaflow from you then, ain't it? heheheh... :)

speaking of which, has it arrived yet? can't wait for my car to sound better and have a bit more punch. :D

Shipping co. says I should see them Tues./Wed. of this week. I did a ton of research before ordering this kit for my own car. It is hands down the best kit I could find for my N/A application.
