Still miss my MSP...

2003.5 MSP Sunlight Silver
Hey, I was wondering what your opinions on what my first aftermarket upgrade should be...(bang)

exhaust buddy....turbo's hate stuffy exhausts. I would go:

cat-less DP
cat-less MP
resonator
(nice) muffler (maybe even stock for the stealth look)
SRI
boostguage
FMIC
Perfworks AEM ECU.

THATS ALL!! nothing more unless you want to build the block.

I hate sitting in my car for it to cool down so TT is my first choice... Of course my next is exhaust.

I still debating to go with turbo back exhaust or FMIC first. FMIC is a little bit cheaper. Performance wise, which is better? turbo back exhaust or FMIC with CAI and MBC with 9psi?

Besides the CAI is useless unless u have the exhaust. As for MBC hopefully you have boost gauge and a better ECU mapping

Nope because it only takes like 30 mins to take it out. Where as a fmic is mounted in all the time

guages, exhaust then FMIC
Damn it Matty-kins say something smartasstastic. I expect nothing less from you! (laugh)

On topic: My first mod was a boost gauge allthough the exhaust will net the largest single gain. Well an "entire" exhaust that is.

This coming from someone who actually has both fmic and catless downpipe, i'd go with the downpipe. I put both on at the same time but recently a weld on my downpipe let go so i'm back to stock exhaust for now. But it made all the difference, my car doesn't pull near as hard now with just a fmic as it did with the catless downpipe. So go with the full turboback and you won't regret it.

I can't say anything smart-ass in this thread however I think I'd like to stop giving out advice because people overlook someone with mechanical experience and certifications over someone who is into "bling"..

It gets frustrating posting help with a technical problem and someone comes in and says "yeah, but dem indiglo gauges B maD tItE!!"

gauges are not a mod and are useless unless you're upping the boost. No'one cares though...the only reason people here add gauges to a stock car is so people will see the guage and know it's turbo....RICE.

Its not rice. Its usablity. I find blue on red very easy on my eyes and thus i like them. Plus my stock gauge is hard to read around dawn or dust with or without the lights one. So i went to indiglo. as for other gauges, i don't need anymore gauges cuz i don't plan on uping the boost. When i do get a EBC or MBC i'll worry about the gauges. But i do agree some people do it to be rice but not all so don't generalize

I wasn't reffering to you noclue....I meant in general. I was reffering to all the "boost guage" responses.

I have indigloe guages in my civic....they look horrible, but I'm too lazy and cheap to replace them.

i agree they aren't a mod, but useless? maybe it's just me, but i like to know what's going on under the hood before ******* with stuff, so i know where it's supposed to be and it'll help diagnose a problem so i don't detonate on the dyno, blow my headgasket and blow up my engine. gauges can be rice, but anyone who plans to actually do something with their car needs them. they don't need to be placed on the a-pillar though, that's just tacky

(cool)
Cool hopefully these are not ugly... If they are i got them for free anyways... :)

ANYTHING you do to your car to change it over stock in my opinion is a "MOD". Taking off the front license(sp) plate and brackets and getting plugs to fill the holes and painting them is modifiing your car. The car has changed, it's modded. If I want to glue a plastic Jesus to my dash, I modded my car!

Back on topic:

Do some easy things first to get your hands wet.....gauge, MBC.
