What'sup my peoples? Just picked up a 2004 5spd Mazda3s sedan just 5 days ago, and I love it. I guess this forum is my new home, before I was on G20.net for years, as I owned a 1994 Infiniti G20. Seems like this car has quite a following, (especially the protege). I'm happy to be here and learn much about my car, like when the mazdaspeed turbo is available....aight, well, see you around, and let me know if there's anything important or interesting I might not know about the car or this site.

you can't burn out. the motor mounts are too soft and the car will just hop tires. it sucks but it can't be fixed until some polyurethane mounts come out.

If you have any questions feel free to PM myself or the other moderators, or search the forums for any info you might need.

I noticed that, I was blaming it on the fact that the roads were slick and I thought that I wasn't getting traction...that's not good at all...its kinda scary the way the car hops like that. Any more details on why other cars dont? And does Mazda care to fix this problem? Does it cause any damage? Thanks for any answers....

Ok, good, then I wasn't going insane. O_o

I was thinking to myself "Where did he mention burning out and/or the motor mounts?!"

My mistake, carry on. ;)

You're doing it wrong. Simply use LOTS more skinny pedal. I did a smoky burnout right from the dealer lot. :D

There's a little hop when you start and it hops when you start to regain traction but if you really get up the wheel speed, it'll burn just fine. It might bounce off the rev limiter but that's what it's there for, right? (sssh)

Did a pretty good e-brake burnout at the drag strip, too. (2thumbs)

So pop the clutch. Wassamatter? Chicken? BWAK! Bok-bok-bok.

Welcome. I envy your 3. I want one to add to my collection. (laugh)

Make yourself comfortable, everyone here is pretty cool. :)

pimpprotege69 what don't you get? i'm pissed that i can't lay down some rubber when a friend says "light em up". i mean i smoke rubber in a 94 5-sped ford escort wagon. thats right a soccer moms station wagon and i burned tires for over 30 seconds

i have no problem popping the clutch. when i do the car just hops like a rabbit on crack.

MORE GAS!!!

I can see I'm going to have to make a video or something so people know it can be done.

Ummm... not that it should be done or I've ever done anything of the sort. (angel)

Well, yeah... but a 94 Escort wagon had 175/65-14 tires! Much less rubber on the road.

Yo M3, i am in burlington too, where you at? I have a 2004 Mazda 3s sedan as well, mine is Titanium Gray whats yours?
I know PJs has sold a bunch of them since May when i bought mine but I have not seen many here in burlington. Did you get a good price on yours because the 2005s are out now? What options did you get?

Hey whatsup, I actually bought mine second hand from Berlin City in Williston, it was originally from PJ's, and it has 11k miles on it. It's Velocity Red Mica, with cloth black/red seats, sport package w/ 17's, 6disc, 5spd, abs/side&curtain airbags....I guess that's it....I know I dont have Xenon, Leather or Navi.

I also goto school just outside of Boston, and that's where I'm at now, but I cant wait to come back to VT in the spring. How old are you? Did you goto BHS? I graduated from SBHS in 2002.
