1987 Mazda Familia GT Turbo Cabriolet, RFI!

by the looks of this thread you guys are no longer active... we in auckland nz and have an 89 cabriolet which we had a new hood fitted to when we got it 2 years ago... we paid $700 for the car which had been leaking thru a large rip in the outter hood lining so she was a soggy mouldy mess but a bargain.
We immediately fitted 17" ROH adrenalins from my 2 previous familias and then came the clean up a full strip out, seats, carpet, bungs, scrub and hosed out. Next came the hood which was sourced from the U.S @ $900NZD aprox and $300NZD to have it fitted. If you havnt already found a new hood i defnitly recomend a professional instal... i visited the auto trimmer to check on progress, the hood was on but the back window was solid vinyl, they actually have to cut it and fit the rear screen themselves which i would imagine would be very easy to stuff up. Also there is alot of pieces that need to be glued to the frame. Anyway the place i went thru will be no help to you other than maybe helping you find out where the hood came from if your local auto trimmers cant help (or cant be bothered more like it...)
The place is called Vintrim and it is on porana road on aucklands north shore... you could google them or look in the nz yellow pages online.
If you have already found a new roof hopefully it has worked out well for you's... we found that our seals need replacing and 2 years on havnt even got around to enquiring about them!! Lazy aye but have been busy building up 3 other cars ! of them an ozzy fave an 84 tg holden gemini wagon and a couple of vauxhall chevettes hatchbacks with gemini fronts. Anyway hope that helps!(cheers)
