New Class II Auto Dealer: Application of D & T Cars, Inc., d/b/a D & T Cars, 367 Yarmouth Road, Hyannis, Antoine D. Gordon, Manager, for a New Class II Auto Dealer License, with a maximum of 16 display vehicles.

Tom Souza, an attorney from Falmouth, appeared for D&T Cars. They are requesting opening the used car lot at 367 Yarmouth Road. Mr. Hoxie stated this was formerly CARZ, which license was revoked at the last meeting. Mr. Burman asked what provision is this group making for liabilities from the prior licensee? The attorney stated It is not a part of this application to go backwards; they would like to step in fresh as a new corporation. Mr. Burman thinks there might be a potential barrier for that. Attorney Souza stated no-one has come forward with any complaints to date; they would be willing to work with those individuals. Mr. Burman stated it was represented at the last hearing that many HAD come forward and they had spent considerable funds resolving issues. The attorney stated after conferring with his clients, they have taken care of any issues which have come up. He stated they also provide wiggle room with their warranty dates to help their customers. Mr. Burman stated that this being a new entity, it may pose a problem. Mr. Hoxie asked about the one principal who is involved in an ongoing investigation – Lt. Jason stated that Det. Sgt. John Murphy will address the Board on that matter. John Murphy stated there is an ongoing investigation into CARZ, and that Ms. Williams was owner along with Mr. Possenti; it has not been determined yet if Ms. Williams was aware of Mr. Possenti’s false identity. He also has concerns about the new corporation. In lieu of the problems of Hyannis CARZ, he thinks it is too soon and that Ms. Williams is carrying over the bond from the previous business whose license was revoked. He thinks that should be resolved prior to granting this license. He suggests a 30 day period to make these determinations. Mr. Hoxie stated to counsel that in light of what Det. Murphy brought forward, he thinks we should continue the hearing to after 30 days. Attorney Souza made it clear for the record that Ms. Williams now has the bond in her name, it was in her name before as principal of CARZ. He stated Ms. Williams is a victim as well as others Mr. Schact injured. Mr. Hoxie asked to continue this to June 18, 2007 and that we will notify them of any information received in the interim. Ms. Williams approached the podium, stating it is a long time…Mr. Hoxie stated if we can resolve the issues by the prior June meeting (4th) we will do so.

A motion was duly made by Gene Burman, seconded by Paul Sullivan and a unanimous vote taken to continue the application of D & T Cars, Inc., d/b/a D & T Cars, 367 Yarmouth Road, Hyannis, Antoine D. Gordon, Manager, for a New Class II Auto Dealer License, with a maximum of 16 display vehicles to the June 18, 2007 hearing; the June 4thhearing if all issues have been resolved.

New Class II Auto Dealer: Application of D& T Cars, Inc., d/b/a D & T Cars, 367 Yarmouth Road, Hyannis, Antoine D. Gordon, Manager, for a New Class II Auto Dealer License, with a maximum of 16 display vehicles. This application was continued to 6/18/07 unless the investigation into Ms. Williams was concluded prior to this hearing. He stated the Board had stipulated that they would hear it today if they were cleared prior to the hearing. Attorney Tom Souza came forward with D & T Cars. The hearing was continued based on comments of Detective Murphy until investigation was complete on Ms. Williams. He stated Det. Murphy cleared Mr. Gordon; they would like two more weeks to clear Ms. Williams. What they have done to move forward quickly is to remove Ms. Williams from the corporation and have everything is Mr. Gordon’s name. Attorney Souza stated Det. Murphy was to speak to Lt. Jason – Lt. Jason confirmed that he did and if everything is in Mr. Gordon’s name it would be o.k. Mr. Gordon has 15 years sales experience (new and used cars) in the past. Attorney Souza stated Mid Cape Tire has given them a letter of support. Mr. Hoxie and Mr. Sullivan had no objections to approving it. Mr. Burman stated that in the event things do not go as planned and Ms. Williams should not be involved for the future – is the investment sound monetarily without her? Mr. Gordon stated it would. Ms. Williams stated they will be getting married soon anyways. Det. Murphy does want to further check Ms. Williams other two names (she states she was married twice before). Mr. Burman asked about the Surety Bond in D & T Cars, Inc. – he would like to see confirmation from the bonding company that the change in principals does not affect the bond. Mr. Geiler stated it is not an issue – if someone was being ADDED it might be an issue, not if someone was being removed. Mr. Hoxie stated it could be approved subject to confirmation of the bond issued to the corporation.

Sweet looking car! Would love to have one of those and just do a full restoration of it. Nice find and work getting info on the company.

dear lord man way to go above and beyond the call of duty!! nice find btw and hopefully the sale works out for you!!

Spoke to my neighbor. The cars are basically in limbo right now. The place is shut down. So it's a matter of a title search to find out who actually owns the car. He is going to ask his boss for me because it's his case, otherwise he would look up the info for me.

Funny thing, as soon as I mentioned the name CARZ a big smirk came on his face and his first words were, "Stay away from that place." He described everything I had already posted.

well atleast were getting somewhere.. i feel bad for the car sitting outside in the cold and rain.. it could be in my nice heated garage away from those idiots at CARZ.. hopefully soon itll all be solved cuz i rlly want that car.

Update: I drove by the place and now all the other cars are gone except for the RX-7. How weird.
