19" superturismos

I think it looks awesome. Tirerack says these wheels work on the MS3 but they're 19x8. Would there be any issues using these wheels? I'm assuming I'd need new tires

If the tire rack says they fit I would put money on it. I would only question that if I was looking for a set of lowering springs also.

The only issue I would see is weight. Generally speaking, the bigger the rim, the more it will weigh. This of course does not ring true when dealing with forged wheels. I would say compare the weight of the stockers to the OZ's. And yes, you will need new tires. Tires are only meant to be mounted on the size in which they are.

the problem with bigger wheels is weight, but also where the weight lies. 19s have more weight pushed farther from the hub. That has a negative impact on performance.

the superturismos are available in 18, but for some reason tirerack only lists the 19" for the ms3. Strange

Its a great looking wheel, but really...do you want to have a wheel with more spokes then stock? REALLY? I'm already sitting on the concrete with a polish cloth longer then I prefer to! Imagine the work you must do to keep that many spokes clean. EEEK.


Seriously though, if TireRack says they fit....They Fit, period. That's the great thing about them.

double check all the wheel specs and offset before purcahsing. Do not rely on the website telling you they will fit. I had an experience where the website and the guy at tire rack swore up and down that the rims I wanted would fit my car...low and behold the offset was too big and it caused my fenders to cut into the tires. Make sure the numbers for the rims and the tires you plan to get will fit before buying.

I had that thought about the spokes... I just love the way the wheels look on the GTI's that came stock with wheels very similar to that. I think it's an awesome look for a sport hatchback

I really don't know much about all that. Specs are: 19x8 wheel, 45mm offset, 5-114 bolt pattern. I'd probably go with the recommended 225/40-19 tire size.

Honestly, I wouldn't go with 19s for a number of reasons. Stick with the 18s. I LOVE those wheels and would probably pick them for my car if I had the $$. I really wish we had 8" wide wheels instead of the bicycle rims we got.

19's work great if you pick the correct offset. I'd take advantage of the 8" rim options if any. We need the extra width.

Those look pretty awesome. My friend has the 30th anniversary GTI that came with stock wheels very similar to these, although they were 18's of course.
