Yea actually that is pretty small now that I did the math. You probably want a tire that comes out to about 110mm sidewall for that. Maybe 245 (wider wheel wider tire) /45 19.
When I mentioned OEM in my first post, that was the OEM tire for that wheel on the RX-8; not the CX-5 oem 19" sorry for any confusion.
The OEM CX-5 tire height at 225/55/19 (at least for 2015 GT US model) is 124mm. The difference in tire height of what youis approx. 12mm or .5 inch. For reference I went from 255/45/20 (114mm) to 255/40/20 (102mm). Here is the difference in tire height. (Tire height is width X aspect ration i.e 255/45/20 = 255 (width) X 45 (aspect ratio or fraction of tire width to height) = 114MM
Yea of course it would lol.. you've got a tall tire on a sports wheel... for example the bmw x3 m sport comes with 245/45/19 tires or 110mm. The oem cx5 wheel is 123mm. A 110mmish tire will look good. I would not go less than 100mm.
Yea of course it would lol.. you've got a tall tire from a skinnier wheel on a *wider* wheel designed for a sports car... for example the bmw x3 m sport comes with 245/45/19 tires or 110mm. The oem cx5 tire is 123mm (on a skinner wheel). A 110mm-ish tire will look good. I would not go less than 100mm. Not to mention the OEM pizza cutter is 7".. the r3 is 8" wide., with a slightly lower offset as well.
These are the 19x8" +50 forged BBS wheels running skinny factory Toyo A23 225/55/19 tires that comes with the CX-5. Would be more fitting with 235 or 245...
