You obviously don't know a lot of VW guys. 215 on an 8.5 isn't that bad, buddy used to run 205/40 on a 16x9.

I know VW guys. Stretching the tire helps them a lot. VW's look nice with offset and wide wheels. It's crazy how a lot of VW's can pull off any wheel or tire size. It's like WOW. The craziest I've seen on a Mazda is 225/40/18's on a 18x9 wheel. Pretty interesting.

These pics are taken from the iPhone, so I dont have quality pics yet, and the Cobb springs just got in today. I have on them Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 225/40/18
18 x 8 +35 rota torques w/ 225/40 Nitto INVO tires and BC coilovers.
The 8.5" wheel with the +45 will be fine IMO, itll be tight though. Roll your fenders and youll be ok. Dont go bigger than a 235/40 tire. maybe consider a 5mm spacer for guaranteed clearance inside

1. The car is dumped so low that's it's effectively undrivable
2. The tires are so stretched that he's driving on the sidewall
3. The rear rims are MUCH wider than the fronts as if the owner is trying to fool everyone into thinking his car is RWD

so because it's low and has wide tires it's rice? you're throwing the term around a little loosely. and rice refers to japanese cars.

Yeah, I got use to the look. Euro's tend to like putting wide wheels and have tire stretch so they could fit it under the fenders. Just like a lot of drift cars. Either way, everyone has their own opinion and if you don't like it, obviously you won't do it.
I happen to be a former euro owner (vw) actually and i enjoyed the wide rear wheels on mine when i had it..although my staggered set up was nowhere near the pic above. VW's are unique cars and deserve to be different...who knows where this whole compact car scene would be if the old GTI's would have never made it over here. Just enjoy the sport and peoples differences in style.(sssh)
yes itt will fit im runnign an 18x9 +30 offset slammed with rollled fenders and i dont rub you will need to prolly bend the abs brake libe bracket back some and get extended lugz eill b much better.. btw those rims suck ass bc there knock offs i hate roats bc there knock offs go big or go home fake wheels suck! get work emotions cr kais not this bulls***
