I want to get a set of 18in wheels for my protege 5. What are some recomended springs i should get to make my protege look low profile. maybe 2 inch drop a little more. What do you guys suggest.

thanks

the lowest drop without coilovers is with the tein s-tech I believe. ~1.8"F ~1.5"R I have maybe a 2 finger gap with stock wheels. You'll probably get even less with 18s, depending on the final tire diameter. Just watch your offset and you should be OK. If you want lower, you'll need coilovers and camber kit (necessary for 2+" of drop)

This Dude Above Me Is Wrong. I Have Eibach (1.6" Front And 1.8" Rear) Springs On My Mp5. Thats The Lowest I Found Without Coilovers.

If they're the Eibach ProKit, then the drop is only 1.2" up front nad 1.4" in the rear(or vice versa. I forget).

I guarantee my Tein S-Techs are lower than the Eibach springs. I have done one-on-one comparisons of my setup compared to other P5's with the eibachs and I have always been lower than those cars. In fact right now I am half a finger width away from tucking my slightly smaller diameter 15" winter wheels.

Lowest you can go that I've seen is Sprint springs. They have a 2" drop all around. I believe the Ion race springs do also. Sprint springs have gotten much cheaper too, and you can get them for like 130-140 bucks shipped now.

Also, Eibach makes two kits. The Pro Kit and the Sportlines. The Sportlines drop lower. That's probably what Wide has on his car.

there is the option of the Eibach SPORTLINES which are 1.8" on all four corners

*edit* damn, beat me... :)

Yes, there are Sportlines. They're hard to find though. People on this board have them and I've seen them online. However I tried to find a place that sells them and in my five minute search I couldn't.. If I see something I'll post the link.

to be honest im the dumb azz. i have apex 1.6 1.8 springs.! sorry!

(lol) that's a rare thing when someone admits to being wrong.. but thanks for clearing it up..

I have the Eibach Prokit on my car. I just put 17's on tonight and I'll be putting my new Tein S-techs on this weekend. My buddy has the Tein's on his car and it's deff. Lower than mine.

I know some of them have a problem, but the one P5 I've seen dropped on Spool springs looked nice. Nice and low. ;)

Springs

Coilovers are to much for me, i was just looking for some basic springs that i can drop my mp5.

The reviews are helpfull. Does anyone have pics of there droped mp5.
