18" setup pictures plz.

called you out once already (4 months ago), but apparently you missed it and still really think they're 17s

incorrect

check out www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

as long as you keep the overall diameter of the tire constant, there will be no change in ride height

Sorry but you are incorrect to a point. There is no size 18" tire that you could run comfortably on an 18" wheel that will not lift a protege.

here is a screen shot and sorry its a .4" difference not 3/4"

I run that size(stock for the LX) in the winter 185/65/R14

And just in case you don't believe me on the stock size.
From Tire Rack:
Original Equipment Size: 185/65-14

you would have to run a 215/30/R18 or 205/35/R18 tire which are almost non-existent in order to maintain a very close to stock height with 18s.

So basically to run 18s and maintain a stock height you would have to basically find a very rare tire.

sorry but please go back to the mazda6 section, this is the 2nd mistake you have made in a week about a protege(the other being a for sale thread about plug wires)

I bought a 2002 Protege ES new and drove it for four years. It was my first brand new car, so I still have an interest in them, and something to contribute regarding them. I note your request that I stay in the mazda6 section, but unfortunately I will not be doing so.

Now onto the matter at hand:

Stock tires on the ES were 195/50-16, which have an overall diameter difference of .2" when compared to 215/35-18. This translates to a .1" difference in ride height.

Using your example (LX stock size), a difference in wheel diameter of .4" will translate to a ride height change of .2" (which is less than 1/4" - negligible compared to the stated 3/4"-1").

Who cares if I messed up about some plug wires? When I changed them on my Miata there were four. I never changed them on my Protege, so I didn't know. I acknowledged my mistake and moved on.

18x8 RX-8 rim....Falken 452 tire, 215/35/18 Stock Protege ES....Lowered,front lip....much better....
