I am currently in desperate need to find new wheels and tires, and currently I have a set of 18" konig super six (think it was konig) in mind. If anyone could post pics of 18" wheels on their protege, I would greatly appreciate. Looking for low pro on hopefully a stock body.

here you go

only some issues with 18" wheels, if they are poorly designed or you purchase tires with little sidewall strength then they will dent very easily. Decent tires cost ALOT compared to smaller size even 17" tires. For example my Yokohama Parada Spec-2 tires in size 215/35/R18 are around $140 a piece. go down to 215/40/R17 Paradas and you are talking $95 a piece or so. However running a 215/35/R18 tire will give you steering response like you have never seen. The look is decent as well. Just be careful with potholes.

Well if any 18" wheels work out for you, here i Go

IukekiniProtege: did you have to modify that lip so it would fit on a 99-00? i herd that you would have to modify the OEM lip a little to fit that front bumper b/c the 01-03 where a little differnt. those cars you posted look amazing

they are the same car :-p...but yes I did have to modify the lip, its not too hard just be prepared to spend a day or two on it, if you want decent results, also i see you live in CT, if you get the OEM lip I can drive down on a weekend and lend a hand if needed.

hmmm, maybe i should stick with a 16 or 17. I dont want to raise the center of gravity too high. Slight change in request, any pics of some 16/17 "s on a stock body protege?

rasie it...im about the same size width with my 18in rim and tire as i was with my 16in rim and tire. im lowered...my handling has increased.

the 18s maybe raise the car 3/4-1inch higher then the stock sized wheels and tires

hmmm, even if that were the case, I would probably need some really low pro tires, and here in Colorado Springs, not the best idea, some bad roads. I'm considering a pair of 16" rota slipstreams with toyo proxes, or a 17" enkei cdr9's with yokohama paradas.... I want to keep it lower because my daily driver is also my scca car. That and the look of 18's on a stock body doesnt look to appealing to me.

I'm sorry but I have to call you out - those are 16" saturn rims, not 17" like your signature says

go look at the tire size printed on the damn sidewall (hand)
