17s or 18s

i really want 18s but i dont know if they will rub or cause other problems...the rims i want or the otegi ff7s...i just had to buy new tires today for my stockers...bridgestone fuzions...and i realize now if i wait for these to run down to get new rims and tires I could possibly be waiting for 3 years to do so...which i dont think is to bad but if i bought these ff7s now in the 17 size i could switch the tires over and run with em. do you guys think i should wait for the 18s or get the 17s..and do you think the possible problems of having 18s is worth the wait?

I'm thinking if I just get lowering springs i can get the same effect of having 18s...I dont know help me I know you all went thru this dillema before.

What size are you looking to run exactly? I have 18x7.5 inch rims with a +48 offset with 215/35 series tires. I am dropped and have no rubbing problems. The offset and width of the tires will be what determines if you will rub or not.

well i really wouldnt be able to tell you unless i google the rims and find their specs...if u mind subscribing to my lil thread here...i would be able to answer you a lil later i have to run right quick

No problem. Maybe some of the guys with more technical answers will be able to help too.

ya 18's are easy............18/215/35's

Be careful with 18's. I'm running 18x7.5 ET:45 with 215/40R18 and I rub on the rear driver side when I have three people in the back. Don't get me wrong, the look is amazing. I have stock suspension, by the way.

I was just wondering what suspension you are running and what if any did modifications did you have to make for the RX-8 wheels to fit, i.e. spacers, fender rolling, etc.

I have 18"x8" with 215/35 nankang Sport NS-II tires they fit perfectly no problem at all, even with 4 people siting in the back with lower springs.. see my car. I have RX8 Rims with no problem and it looks awesome.

I think these are the best looking rims for the speed. I'm not Saying this to show off or nothing. Just my personal Opinion.
