17psi till 7k + exhaust cutout + AEM cold air here is what you can race!!!

"but people who have never owned a car with cutouts or a sub 12 second car chime in with their theories"

why do you assume so much?

and why would i take your Impala time slip as it's quickest? first of all, its the 1st time i see you on the forum, i have no idea what kinda car you have other than the Speed6 listed in your info, how the hell should i know you have an impala and that its fast? which i don't really care by the way. Please stop making assumption about everybody on a forum and stop thinking you've done it all and that you are so better than everybody else because you have a 10sec impala =\ if i wana see fast american cars, i just go to the track 20mins from my house and i can see v8 run betwee 11 and 8sec 1/4 all night long. i'm not impressed

You stated your opinion on cutouts, i stated mine. please leave it at that.

for the record, the cutout on his car has no audible leak. maybe it leaks, maybe it doesn't, maybe he loses 1.2lbs of torque because of the leak or whatever. What he wanted was to run open exhaust at the track without having the open exhaust on the road, and that's what he has. at the end of the day, your WGA cutout cost 100$ more from atp turbo, + boost solenoid, etc. And please don't come back at me by saying you're not paying 285$ from atp because you are building it yourself. its a moot point here

for the people who are saying that im losing power then u are wrong!!! i get more power on low and high RPM!! u can check all the other races that i posted u'll see

Man, you guys are skip reading what I'm saying. Let's leave it at there's another cutout out there specifically for boosted applications which works great and leave it at that.
Also for a price comparison you're going to have to buy the QTP controller for the same functionality except I'll just have to push the defroster button to allow mine to automatically open and close vs push a button to open and push a button to close.

u dont need to buy that. i didnt buy it. i can here when it is closed or open without that

Again, you're misreading what I said.
If you want the same functionality (auto open/close) you'll need the controller.
Sheesh.
Mike

you just cant let it go uh? We know there is another solution, it's been mentionned weeks ago before you even posted in this thread. And now you come back with this? Like p5freek said, it is not needed. The package already comes with a switch. you use your defrost switch, he uses the switch that comes with it.

EDIT: why would we want auto open/close? I don't get why you are insisting on that so much. i'd rather have control than pay more just so it can open automatically =\

The reason why I want auto open/close is that when caught in a quick race I don't want to hold a button down for 3 seconds while I'm trying to shift. Case in point, I am driving along and a guy wants to go as we're just driving. With an electric cutout I have to reach down and hold open the button. Now with my Impala that's no gigantic deal as it was an auto, now try that with a stick. HUGE disadvantage. In my Impala I had the nitrous setup on the defroster button and my cutouts worked off the high beams once the defroster button was activated. That way I could open them without having to look down at all.
What can I say, that's the way I roll....
:)
Mike

now that makes a bit more sense. i didnt see it that way because i'm not the type of guy to go just because someone's revving his engine next to me on the street or highway. but i can see how the auto is better in the case where you need to race quick

you sometimes just gotta show the lil punks what's up ya know? kick the s*** out of their car, and laugh. either way, a good mod for those of you looking for something.

its not even better. because by the time that you look at the guy and you do the go it is already open

I tell you what, once I get mine installed with my new IC that's being built I will do a video of the process of running my cutout from in the car. I don't want to have to think about holding down a switch or button while figuring out which gear I need to be in etc. I'll also dyno the car with it open and closed and with an MBC set 17PSI to redline and take inlet temps etc for you guys. Then we'll have actual data for p5freek to know if he has to freek out about toasting his motor.

:)
Mike

why do we need dyno with inlet temps ?

also, i never have to "figure out which gear i need to be in" you should just know. most of the time when i'm on the highway i just go in 3rd and let the turbo do it's thing all the way up to 20psi or just stay in 4th, depending on what i'm doing. you know you have enough power to win over most cars on the highway, so deciding which gear to go to and going into that gear shouldnt take much time. even @ stock power with the speed6 =\

hehe i agree with showing the lil punks but usually you don't need much power to do that. This is usually the only time i race on the highway, when one of those annoying punks is up my ass, i just downshift to 3rd or 4th and step on it for a few seconds, put some distance and then go back to 5th.

totally understand. i hate those kids. sometimes, rather than speeding up, i just totally rock the ebrake,...causing a huge pile of smoke to billow out from under/behind my car. most people don't like that. and back off. it's not safe, but, if they hit me from behind..guess what...their fault.

yeah well around here that doesnt matter. their fault or your fault, your insurance has to pay and even though they send you a nice letter saying that after investigation you are not at fault, the price still goes up. bastards

i know i am running pig rich at part throttle so i just stay at ~25% throttle and i can see the black smoke coming out. and i know it stinks lol so i have fun with that, or i just floor it for a few secs and change lane

Your missing the point.

He is a big enough man to not have to race every idiot that pulls next to him, actually from metting him in persone and racing our cars at the same track each week, I dont see him as being a "Street Racer" & his intentions are not to be a sleeper untill the light goes green. So who cares if it takes a few secs for the cut out to open, the line at St-Eu is ******* long enough so that by the time he pulls up to race, its open.

Also You have to have that need (The 'I gotta have it open right away so I can race this fool who looked at me" need) You aparently do, but that doesnt mean the rest of the world does especially when he already expressed the fact he Specifically wanted it so he could have it open at the Track And Closed in the Street (RTM)

the whole "i've got too much pride to not race someone who revs at me on the street" persona is pretty childish in my opinion....and played out to say the least....STRAIGHT UP FAST AND THE FURIOUS LOL

I race quite a bit here and there. My preferred vehicle to kick people's asses in is my Excursion which pulls 1.8 60's. I want to be able to on the fly put a hurtin on somebody with as little thinking as possible. I drag race at the track and I play on the street or setup encounters at specified locations away from traffic and neighborhoods. I'm almost 40 now and love to race and when I'm 60 I'll still race. I informed my wife last week when my son hit 16 and can start driving I'm buying a Z06 for me. Right now I'm stuck with 4 doors due to taking 3 kids to school every day.

By the way, I'm the guy that looks over at SRT-4's, Magnums, Chargers, Fbodies, BMW's, Mercdes, Speed6's etc. etc and smile knowingly as I spool up the turbo in my X.
My license plate is UGTSMKD because my tune is quite smokey... :D

Yeah "as little thinking as possible" & you need time to figure out what gear your suposed to be in...

It goes to show you dont have to be a good Driver to own a fast car.....

Not saying anything directly to you 4DRHTRD, I dont know you and can only assume about how you drive (so I wont), but quite frankly I dont give a s***, its irrelevant.......

You seem to have some good experience, try not using it to be an ass hole. Your option is a great sugestion, but your giving it with a un -founded grain of salt twords his current set up, and the only reason you can give for your disrespect and contempt is because of an option irrelevant to us or anybody who doesnt give a s*** about street racing.......... I would hope YOU ARE as you say you are and follow what Im saying.

Now lets move on....... There are 2 options presented here baised on everybody who is in the markets individual needs, they will decide as to what option will best suit there needs.

p5freek
Has made his choice baised on his needs that differ from the needs of 4DRHTRD.
