14,900 good price for an 03?

paid $14,965 out the door for '03.5. but no options except for cassette, wheel locks and cargo net. i didn't need the cassette player but the dealer matched the price of one without it so i thought i'd take it. simple logic (i think..) :P
got it at jim ellis in atlanta. great dealer.

You know you got a good deal when you go back to the dealer once in a while for general stuff and the sales guys still shake their heads at you when you walk through the door.

Yeah they all say that until you walk in. They have prices as low as $12,600 here in san jose,CA in the past 3 months. But do they have the option package you want or are they going to look for it? The bare bones price with the cash rebate is $14,400 on edmunds today, MSRP is $17,415.

So nobody appears to have gotten too bad a deal. Sure you have a grand below that to play with but getting what you want is the point. With only one car w/ABS and MT within a 100 miles I gave up arguing after an hour.

Two weeks ago I paid $16,458 out the door for a 2003 P5 w/ CD/Sunroof, Sub, Roofrack and bumper guard. It beat the best price I got on a Matrix XR with Quality Pkg 2 (same options) by $1500.
