Well today I was at a friend tuner shop. He is a dsm mastertech and his partner is a honda wiz. Well they we were messing with my boost controler to see what it can run. At 18psi boost cut came on, but at 14 speking alittle to 16 there were no problems. no fuel cut, no leaning out no detonation nothing. just wondering what evrybody thought. i drove it around off and on for like 3 hours. I have turned it back to stock. I was wondering what everybody though. I have read alot on this board about people running it at 12 sometimes but not really going over 10. I know most are gonna say that its gonna blow up. that is why i am not gonna have it up there, but i may dyno it at 14 and post a vid once i get some money saved up.

My mods are
Cone dc sports filter inplace of stock air box
boost controler
air/fuel and boost
and flash

all I got to say is wow. You are running 14-16 psi post flash? Living dangerously i see. Good for you. Join discreetspeed as another post flash msp running 14-16 psi. You got balls man thats all i can say.

oh and after running it for awhile i felt the inlet of the intercooler and it was hot as hell. then i felt the side where it goes to the throtle body and it was cold. stock intercooler must be working hard

Dunno about all that, my cousins MSP cuts the fuel about 14-15psi, and its a hard cut, puts your chin into the steering wheel. Max running is 10-12psi safely (and thats cutting it close too)

I definately would not leave it up there post-flash...I've got a CAI, downpipe, and catback. Post-flash I was running 10psi and I may have myself a detonation problem. Be careful!!

If you have detonation, you will know it when your rod is poking out of your engine. Once it detonates prematurely, something in the engine is going to give. It "detonates" each time the plugs spark, so esentially that is hearing detonation. Premature detonation is the one you do not want, and dont usually get a chance to hear...

Make sure you are running good gas. A guy up here was running 14 psi on 91 gas (pre-flash) and popped his motor.

Your stock intercooler is not suddicient for that type of boost. At least not in the location it is in.

I can barely touch 10psi (it peaks there) without hitting the cut in 5th. Doesnt seem to hit it as easy in lower gears. Colder temps cause the cut more frequently also.

Get a FCD from Joe P

well, i suppose i should clarify. I'm afraid of cutting wires. :D

Yep I went as high as 14PSI in the summer and never hit the cut but now with temps in the 30's-40's I hit cut a t 12.
I want the FCD but I am wary of destroying my car via a dumbass move on my part during install.

yipes. dont blow your engine. what u are doing, a split second of detonation u can kiss everything bye bye.

oh, ok. I guess I misunderstood the process. I thought I read on a different thread that you had to splice into the ECU harness.

You just have to tap one wire :)
