Larone,

Joe sold his MSP a long time ago. I dont' think he will be running 1/4 mile at 18psi...

Yeah, got rid of it a few months back- I realized I was fighting a loosing battle- 1) it would never be as fast as I would like (not practically at least :) ), 2) no matter what I said or proved- people who have a lot more expensive items for sale always said I was wrong- even with no proof and people woudl get the- "well, it is $2000, he must be right" and lastly, unfortunately, the car was depreciating faster than if I had wrecked it. I wanted to bail while I still could before all the bitching about the hesitation, clunk, etc. branded the car as a "problem" car and no one wanted it :). In a lot of ways, I do miss it and wish I followed through with my plans, but when you are trying to push what works and others are pushing "bling" in todays market, you are most definately the underdog....
Joe
PS- We are considering getting another one next year after the price drops even more and playing with it, who knows though.. I still want my C5 vette too :0.

Haha, lol- sorry- I have a tendancy of doing that.. I think because when people actually see me posting, they figure they have a chance to get ahold of me and it just goes from there :). Sorry.. :D

Thx;
not racing, there was an orange one parked

Hey bored- did you read my post up top- "Anyone else experiencing this? Without telling me, I have no clue there are issues.....

What was the temp? When I was running the FCD in my car, I ONLY hit the cut once when it was in the 50's and that was at 20-21 psi... Do you possibly have a boost leak?

If you want, send the FCD back to me and I can check it out. Thanks.
Joe"??

I would like more info so I can get this resolved :). Thanks.
Joe

Nice times...

I'm still wondering how a guy in town here who doesn't know much about these cars was managing 14 flat multimpule times with ONLY an APEXi AVCR. We do have a good track and are at like 240' elevation. But still... everything I read on here it's taking people a LOT more mods to get those kinds of times.

Anyway, good job. Gald to hear you know what your doing while upgrading too. I got my car too late in the season to see what kind of crazy times I couple pull. :)

Was he running a lot of boost and race fuel? What was his MPH also? Driving and traction will play a big role in ET too- if he was running 14 flat at say 95 then it was all driving/traction- if it was 14 flat at 105 or so, then it was all power :).
Joe

sorry joe i did read your post, it was hot at the track(no cut), but then when i was on the highway there was the cut. Last time i was at the track it was even hotter out (no fcd yet) and i hit the cut. So i think it is working i just have to mess with the adjustment.

Also, were would you say is the best place to get a boost(vac.) source? Does that matter?

I'm sure it was just pump gas. The guy didn't act like he knew much about tuning and or racing. But as I said, that's how he seemed to act.

But I don't know the boost level or trap speed.

that didn't happen to be a orange msp was it? If it was then it was me. I know more than what I let on about this car. I have colder plugs at 11 psi with an injen intake. I also have a 3" turbo exhaust in the works. My trap speed was 98 mph and my 60' times were 2.114, 1/8 mile 9.04. Oh yeah I also have a joe p. fpr on my car.

14 flat at 11psi

impressive.(thumb)

Very very nice times. Do you think the 3" pipe helped? Or would a 2.5" do the same thing?

I always read that 3in would be overkill for this setup and 2.5 was better..but I guess it all depends on what else you plan to do...

I think that the 2.5" exhaust would be ok, from the turbo back if you got rid of the 2 small cats and put in one highflow one. But I plan on getting forged internals and a larger turbo in time. I don't want to have a new exhaust made or purchase another one.

thanks. that was with bfg drag radials. I couldn't get any better than 14.25 with street tires

How do you like the BFG's? They work well with the right air pressure and if you get them hot enough. You can get a much better 60' than that with them, but be careful not to break anything. this is where the skill and finesse will come into play :).. My Z will break the rear if I launch too hard, so I roll into it, don't go WOT until about 33 mph (datalogs) and still cut 1.72 60's :).
