Hey guys -

Long time reader, first time poster. Registered cause I read so damn much here, and to leave Ken at PG some good feedback.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of my 2008.5 MS3. (At least I think. How can you tell by looking at the dates on the door panel?)

So far here are my mods with some quick feedback:
CPE Xcel NANO SRI - cool as hell. Sounds great. Pulls and spools better.
Forge BPV - this thing sounds horrible. That ping. Bad. No performance increase. Just an epic sword battle in my engine bay.
AWR Rear Mount 88 (Dur) - Wow. Vibrations are.. a lot. But it's worth it. The wheel hop is gone, shifting is better, and the most accurate thing I can say is you feel more connected to the car and the car feels like it's putting more power to the ground. Overall worth the vibes at low RPMs. 1k - 2k..
Redline MT-90 MTF - I noticed absolutely no difference

Also..
Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines, RBF600, Shifter Bushings.

I also occasionally hit up Texas World Speedway (performance driving school and track time. That track is great. )

Anyway, just wanted to say Hellooooo and generally thanks to everybody for the wealth of info here. Look forward to being corrected by smarter people here in the very near future :)

Also, I've seen quite a few MS3's zipping around here in Houston.. Anybody else in Houston?

Sounds like we have similar taste.
Hated the CAI (sold) love the SRI
I sold the Forge after a month.
Havent done the mount but am thinking about the CS inserts.
Didnt fall for the tranny fluid, didnt see the point.

For me My best upgrades:
SRI
Cobb AP
Koni FSD's
and 1 resonator replaced with Magnaflow 12616 (kills the throttle off drone)

Welcome and have fun at the track.

Thanks for the feedback. You went back to stock BPV? I feel there is a better solution that's made of metal or at least is one solid piece.. Anyone try the piston style one from Forge? BOV would be OK, but it's holding more boost I'm looking for, not the sound.

Interesting upgrade list. On the muffler - can you explain what you mean by throttle of drone? Just the hum @ idle? You are saying you lessened the sound of it?

And as far as the Koni FSDs, also surprising. Having done that upgrade, is it better performance, or more daily driver comfort? And if either or both, how much of a difference vs stock?

Thanks Freefly

hes talking about the drone when engine braking.

welcome, nice to see another track driver.

Best upgrade bar none for power was the ap and protune. swaybars will help bring the car back to neutral during hard cornering. you'll be able to rotate the car thru the corners with simple tire adjustments, and even oversteer, which is always fun
