Which will do a better job? Opinions welcome please. I'm on the fence. Dynamat is just so damn expensive!!

I'm also planning on putting down a layer of carpet padding on top. I want a warm quiet car!!!

Thanks.

How much are fatmats? 2 layers of that is almost doubling the work. Dynamat extremes are nice and thick. Look on ebay, you can find much better deal there than in stores.

On ebay, I can get about 150 sq feet of fatmat for about $200. Or 72 sq feet of dynamat extreme for about $240. That's assuming I need that much to cover my P5. If it only took about 50 sqft, I could just pay $130 and get 100 sqft of fatmat. Is dynamat THAT good????

Dynamats are def. overpriced. But it worked for me. Comparison wise it would be impossible to tell unless a scientific test side-by-side test is done, otherwise all you will be getting are manufacturer claims and individual subjective opinions. I got 36 sq ft of dynamat extreme on ebay for $120 shipped, it was enough to cover all four doors, floors (sans backseat) and rear wheel wells.

go Dynamat

I'd go Dynamat. I put down 1-2 layers of Fatmat in my sedan's trunk last year and it didn't really do all that much. Plus the vendor (Fatmat) SUCKED, no response to emails, unlisted phone #, and I eventually had to file a complaint with the BBB to get it delivered. Stay away from Fatmat. At least I see Dynamat sold in local stores.
