1 Change Almost assured for 08 Speed3.

Can someone point to me where there are statements about motor mount failures? I always hear about the motor mounts in every thread, but I don't know what the problem is.
And if it's such a common problem, how come there hasn't been a recall for it?

It is not a common problem. It's just that some people blow things way out of proportion as if all MS3 will have their engine fall out at any given moment. Keep in mind that the forum members here represent a small fraction of the entire Mazda community; moreover, the people having those motor mount problems amount to a tiny percentage of this forum. ^_^ Indeed, there would have been a recall if it were such a widespread case.

I like you.
That's pretty much the conclusion I was coming to, considering there's always a dramatic tone about it but never facts behind it. I've learned to only trust the facts.
Plus I'm not worried about *gasp* my engine falling out. I have a warranty, and I have insurance. That's what it's there for.

If I'm not mistaken many people before me already brought up the motor mounts in reference to being a 'Change almost assured for 08 Speed3'. I would like to know why that is necessary.

People have brought up that fact and I believe that some type of stronger motor mounts will probably be a change for 2008. When I read the post I thought you were just coming in asking where to find info on the subject instead of searching for what you want to know. That would've been considered thread jacking. It was just a misread on my part.

Look at some of those whom had failures and then admitt to ussign after market tranny mounts and do other mods that may have contributed to the failure.

They like to say it had nothing to do with the failure and that I am an idiot but then again they are so sure of themselves they run under the car and start unbolting s*** before taking it to the dealer then play stupid like it just failed for no reason.

I am not convinced either way that it is a serious honest issue or that its a few dumbasses that are modding s*** and creating failures but either way all I know is mine seems fine so far.

I didn't think much of the tpms as all my other cars never had it, but now that it has alerted a few times for less than optimal pressures, I think it's pretty useful. And yes all speed3s have them. I have a sport as well.

The only thing that sucks about TPMS is you cant buy wheel/tire combos and have them sent to you all pre balanced and installed.

I think tirerack offers that service if you buy the TPMS sensors from them. $500? I wish the sensors were cheaper. >_<

Well no sense in buying sensors when you already have them so you pretty much have to remount the tires again.

1st there is NO aftermarket tranny mount. The mount your thinking of is the lower mount. I think i've only read of 2 people who had tranny mount failures that also had an aftermarket lower mount. One guy took his off the car b/c he didnt want any hassle...not that he was scared. The other guy didnt take his lower mount off and mazda didnt even ask about it....they just fixed the damage.

It doenst matter what mods you do....if u havent touched the tranny mount it shouldnt fail....end of story. There are plenty of other high powered cars out that without this problem....and you somehow think its the owners fault?

Every post i read of yours you come off as some asshole(ghey)

Its not stupid if you check your tire pressure..

That certainly does you a lot of good when you pick up a nail pulling out of the gas station after checking that pressure and getting on the highway for a 200 mile trip.

You might be glad the TPMS let you know your tire went below 28psi while traveling down the highway. Otherwise you may not notice your running on a very slow leaking and nearly flat tire until after you have already done the damage to it.

It has saved me from having to buy two tires after they picked up a nail while driving.

I think the TPMS is not as much for safety as it is for fuel economy. People riding around on flat/low tires suck up a lot more gas, needlessly.

Now how in the hell would the TPMS not be as much safety as is it is for fuel economy??? Come on Swamp you have a head on your shoulders. Pass the J yo...

Lets say your doing 70 on the highway you run over a nail or something strong enough to penetrate the wall of the tire and you have leak. And your traveling a long distance and won't be stopping for while.

Would your rather wait untill you are running on bare rim before you even notice it and maybe get into an accident? Or would you rather be notified immediately that the pressure has dropped a couple of psi?

You tell me Swamp...As I have been in this situation quite a few times.

I see Swamp's point in this to an extent. Although it is a safety feature on the MS3 the TPMS can also help save gas mileage by letting you know that your tire(s) are low. Either way it's a safety feature (to the wallet) considering these damned gas prices now.

I'm on so many cold meds right now I don't know what I am saying.

Upon further review of the NTSB's report on TPMS, I'd like my post about fuel economy stricken from the record. For some reason, I had read that somewhere or saw it in a peyote induced dream. Now back to finding my spirit guide. (hippy)

the gas mileage perk is just a bonus
