The car has a stock engine, trans, diff, manifolds and turbo. We made a new 2.25" down pipe that go's from the turbo to the exhaust, the front cat fell off when we did the install. We installed a cut out and flex joint to the downpipe. We hit a switch on the dash and the cut out opens up. The customer had got a hold of a used Talon intercooler so he had us install it. Does not work that well, this was not worth the the time and money. He use the stock rims with a DOT drag tire, not sure what kind. We also installed our MPI Tuner with our 80mm MAF. In his car we installed two 45lbs injector before the throttle body. The most boost he has seen at the track if 15psi. He has been running the car at the track for almost two months now. He had a lot of troubles getting the car to hook even with the tires. I guess with all racing it take a lot of seat time. Still for someone who never raced before he is doing well for only 18 1/4 mile passes.

The next thing will be a real FMIC.

Yeah, the Talon IC was a bad idea compared to the stock MSP IC :).. It is not as bad as people make it seem, but you can do much better. I am curious though0 why did you do all that work to the car? People are running 102 traps with stock ECU's, MAF's, etc. The only thing that got that car into the 13's and not others is the drag radials (or slicks, whatever they were). The MPI unit, additional injectors, etc. are waaaayyy overkill for that particular setup. It will allow for a lot more down the road however- which I'm sure was the plan anyway :).. I just didn't want people to think it took all that just to hit 13's. Good run none the less- congrats!! And to anyone that doubts this- you need to learn to drive, tune or both if you think this is far fetched- especially with the mods it has :)....

The MPI Tuner piggyback/mass air system will let you tune your fuel and spark retard. If you are running less then 8-9 psi and never hit 5.0 volts with your MAF meter you can use our extra injector set up only. If you are running more then 9-10 psi or hitting the 5.0 volts then you will also need our meter.

It works like this, it is a piggyback so you must have stock ECU installed. The first part is for the stock MAF only. We tap into a few sensors and pickups. We tap into the TPS to read how much throttle you are giving the car at any point it time. We also use the crank pick up to read the rpm, we call it tach input. We then take the total crankshaft sensor output and send it into MPI Tuner. When it is sent to the MPI Tuner we then reprogram the output that is to go back into the stock Mazda ECU. We can retard the timing as much as 8 degrees. We have 128 points in our timing table for you to program your timing. We also can retard the timing based on boost load. We then take the MAF output and read how much mass air boost load we have. This part can be used for both adding fuel and removing timing. We then add two extra injectors in front of the throttle body. We have one driver in our MPI Tuner. It will drive upto 6 injector in batch mode. We then add fuel by programing the extra injectors.

I do not to get to long on this, I will post again about the larger MAF.

nick the greek its dean (whats up) to your reply. Sorry it took so long to get back. Your more than welcome to TRY with that EVO. I can show you how your car might have ran if you didn't blow it up. You should not have given up on it. Once again, I will be at Raceway Park on Nov 16th. Hope you can be in the opposite lane.
 
Do I get to tune the EVO :D??? Not that I have spent the past 7 years building DSM's or anything :). Seriously though- Nick- sounds like a challenge :). If I can't tune, can I at least drive :)??? I will show you the "proper technique" for launching and shifting an AWD DSM :). lol... I have cut 1.6.8 60's in fairly stock DSM's and have gone 12.9@102 with just boost, gutted cat and a cat back- no tuning or anything. Everyone who knows me will agree- if there is at least one thing I can do right- it is drive a DSM :p .. I can promise you the best ET out of your car, but I cannot promise you it will be going home under it's own power. lol...

Man, if I didn't just get a deposit on my Z28, I would bring that down there :(.. With my luck, I would blow it up though and lose the sale....

Because you should really stick to cleaning tanning boths rather than talking s*** about cars you know nothing about.
I run 13's in my car missing gears, with the ac on and a blown clutch:p You hehe.
To touch on your prioir arogant statement full of MPnick ignorance. I in no way blew my engine. She ran great. We disassembled the head so we can adjust the valves. Thats it. Unfortunatly i didnt have time to continue with my project. I had family responsabilties to attend to. But she is still there running N/A for now. Mode of transportation. Then i decided to get a real sports car that needed nothing more than a MBC to make me happy. THEN when i have time again i will be back on the scene to teach you and your butt buddy some things.
So get your facts straight. Then talk s***.
As for what you have today done to your car; Who do you think started this dean and made what you have today posssible.
BUT you were led in the wrong direction. Dont think that your motor will last long this way. But if you drive it Once every three weeks like you do then maybe it willlast a year;)

It was just time to buy something that would last.
She ran a good 13.0 112MPH last week at Atco.
Damn thrid gear is a little rogh on this new trans. But she'll hit high twelves no problem next time.
I have the AEM on the way. Plus some more goodies are in store for her.

BUT i will build the P5 one more time just to prove a point. ;)
I guess well have to see huh?

That is a wicked MPH and should get you around a 12.3-12.4 with some seriously hard and precise driving :).. Nice work!! I knew I should have gotten an Evo from day one :(.

Its a shame that alot of this has to come out but you bring it on yourself. The money youmake this guy spend on his car is rediculous. I can only imagine who in there right mind would run that talon cooler on there. If you are so damn bright WHY would you even let him attemp that?

I wouldn't say that is the right thing to do. They both have their own things to offer to the people here- they just don't agree with each other (for their own reasons which I have no room to speak on because I know nothing of it). Hell, most of the people on this board don't agree with each other and have less to offer- lets just kick every one off the boards- they'd be quiet and peaceful place then :).

I say- kick back, grab a popcorn and pull out a chair because it is turning out to be quite a show :D.
