09 Ms3 Vs 09 Wrx

Oddly enough I could not find the seat heater switches in the GT I drove, and the salesman could not find them either.

Also, I'm not going back on my decision so play all the coulda woulda shoulda you want. Squeeks and rattles be damned, the MS3 is what I'm getting.

As for the interiors, I liked both of them just fine and I guess I'm not THAT discerning. I spent more time checking out the MS3 honestly. I had a salesman in the Subaru during the test drive and that was somewhat distracting. I didn't sit and look it over inside for too long.

See you guys around.

Seriously the interior on the Subie is good the way it is. No need to bash it. It is actually very similar to the Speed3 and I know because I owned one. Seats are pretty confortable, have the WRX on the head rest like the MS3, colors are fairly similar and design. What I dont have on the Subaru is the "brand or model" on the cluster and the polished step plates.

But...

I have 2 front heated seats (2 intensity levels), a nice moonroof with 1 push to open and 1 push to close (no more holding down bs to close it) and I have absolutely NO INTERIOR SOUNDS, even at -20*C (yeah Canada). For those who drive a Speed3 in the winter or cold temperatures, you know what kind of rattling and squeeking you have. At least the "cheap" interior (if you say so but is perfectly fine with me) doest make a sound. It was one of the main factors beleive it or not why I got rid of the Speed3. Sucks for winter and the noises are like I was driving a 1990 old beater which was not acceptable. But an awesome summer car.

Don't know what you've been smoking but the 09 wrx interior is cheap as hell and looks like trash.

Seriously relax fanboys I had a Speed3 and I'm not saying its a bad car but this is funny. A squeeking seat when the car has only 200miles, a rattling glove box, center console, and rattling windshield (cowl) is cheapness in its greatness if we lok at the Speed3. Seriously, no need to debate this anymore, my cheap, ugly, noiseless and plain interior in the Subie is perfectly fine with me. Only missing a couple logo's but thats it.

no ones attackingyou or your decision.

no need to defend. its just a car. if someone says my car is ugly, cheap whatever. doesnt bother me

i just know that when i stopped by the subbie dealership i sat in the WRX, i was ready to get out(matter of fact i was on the phone the whole time with my boy talking about other cars.) i didnt even want to test drive any of the cars.

design wise. i thought the blue subbie sedan was the best looking car on the lot.

but still had a blah feeling about all of them. blah blah blah

I have a 2008.5 MS3 GT with over 10k miles and have no rattles, squeaks whatsoever. And I find the interior better built than the 2006 BMW M5 I bought the MS3 to replace...and the MS3 is a lot more fun to drive than the M5 was...

yeah the M5's interior is very dated as well(looks.) but in what way you are saying the MS3's interior is better than the M5s?

and yep the MS3 will be much more fun to drive. M5 is an autobahn cruiser. have to be in the top end to feel the wonders of that V10. have you gotten exhaust for it or you want to keep it comfortable and subtle sounding

haha, im the biggest audi fan. if i buy a german car, its audi all the way.

they make the best interiors by far. but someone as them beat. and its american(go figure)

can you guess what cars interior.

its the Caddy CTS, this is the CTS-V's interior though.

bad as hell

Analog clock FTW!

Sorry no love for anything Cadillac here. Don't care how fast it is or anything else about them. I'm Asian car guy all the way.

I'm with you my speed has a bunch of squeaks, and rattles with 3,000 miles.. If I were to buy a car today I would probably go with the wrx if it wasn't for the spun bearings

This is something I've gone back and forth over since the 09' WRX came out. If I didn't own either at this point, I'd probably go with the WRX. But I love my MS3 and there's not enough about the WRX that I like better to make me switch cars.

so am i. but i give credit where credit is due and thats one badass int. as said, better than any audi interior. and they're the best

I would be interested to see what the MS3 0-60 time would be with a 5 speed vs a six.

Oh Wurf... good choice :D I don't think you will miss the AWD that much. I was looking at the milage raitings for the
wrx.... ouch man.

Edit: Apparently there are 5 pages to this thread, not 3. My comment made more sense at the end of page 3.

Since we are talking about interiors, I found the subbie ok, nothing fantastic. I didnt like the seats though, they were so low I though my nuts might drag on on the road. I tried to raise the seat but no luck. The dealer was useless ofcourse and told me it was supposed to be that way.

One thing I did like was the windshield wiper defroster. I would trade my rain-sensing wipers for a wiper defroster any day.

new 09 is def not worth it. in oct/dec of next year a new 09 will be able to be had at a good price, just like the 08s this past year with $7000 off MSRP + 0% for 62 months. right now you could prob get the same deal on an 08 if you could find a new one somewhere.

I've heard about the the WRX having tranny issues, don't hold me to that though!

Only the 2002's 1st gear can get munched. They fixed that in later iterations.

The MS3 is torque-steer with a capital TORQUE STEER. That much power should not be channeled through the front wheels. Nicer interior, better mileage, but still front wheel drive. Depends whether you like it or not. I hate FWD.

The WRX is a bit more rough. The '08 is s***. '03-'07 are my personal favorites but the '09 is no slouch. The '09 is even refined enough to be used as a daily driver without any regrets. Also, Subarus last forever. My dad's Subaru Legacy lasted 400,000 miles (no engine breakdowns, no transmissions issues, etc) before it got badly rear ended. Otherwise, he would have kept it. Subaru reliability is phenomenal and the dealers, at least where I live, are insanely helpful. You'd think they were trying to get you into bed. Definitely leagues above Mazda. Mileage is worse, as is interior quality. AWD is real fun, especially at high speeds and autocross circuits.

It's all about what you prioritize. I'm partial to the WRX but they're both great cars.
