I just need some information from more experienced mazda folks.

I have all the GT BOSE speakers, amp, and sub, and i would love to install them in my Sport model Mazdaspeed3.

I know that people are going to tell me that im better off getting an after market system, but i already have all the components and I just need to know if it is possible and what is involved in getting it done.

P.S. Feel free to give me a call or text 404.941.4567

Thank you,
Nikola

uh...

Since the non-bose system has speaker level output, you will need an attenuator to reduce it to line-level signals. That's the first thing. Find a wiring diagram of the bose system and go from there, as far as connections. You'll have to run a power wire to the battery, and not sure where your remote wire would go to.

For the speakers, just splice the wire already in the door, so the woofers and tweeters run in parallel. The woofers are expected to run up to "natural rolloff" and the tweets have a cap for hi-pass.

Honestly, IMHO, since adding the BOSE amp and sub would require the same effort as adding aftermarket, but without the good aftermarket sound, I wouldn't bother with it.

I would just add (replace) the speakers. That's easy to do and doesn't require all the amp wiring (running power through the firewall, adding a LOC to the stock HU, turn on lead, signal wires, etc).

I am guessing the BOSE speakers are nearly as sensitive as the non-BOSE ones and can be powered fine off the normal stock HU. I would add some better cross-overs, or LP/HP filters, on the speakers and tweeters and be done with it.

Sell the amp-subwoofer on Ebay. When you can afford, add a real amp and sub.

I had an 09 Mazda 3 before I bought my 07 Speed 3...The stereo system in my regular 3 (non-Bose) was quite noticeably better than the BS Bose system in these Speed 3's...I can't believe Mazda is trying to pull this Bose system as "quality"...It's a P.O.S....plain and simple...I would just hold out for an aftermarket HU and save for some speakers....Trust me, the factory BOSE is a pile of s***!!

Just for the record..I removed the factory HU as soon as I could...And added some subwoofers..I will be replacing my stock speakers with Alpines as soon as I figure out how!!! 6.5 inch components don't fit in 5x7 or 6x7 openings

Yes they do. If you are after Alpine Type R components, they have a 5x7/6x8 adapter for the 6.5" mid bass. I almost bought these speakers, but went with Pioneer Series D components instead, which also have an adapter to fit the 5x7/6x8 opening. The Pioneer adapter works fine, and I suspect the Alpine one does too.

Yeah I know they come with adapters (iactually have 2 sets of the type R's)..I was just refering to most speakers that do not come with adapters

Yeah good luck with using the bose system as an upgrade. The speakers in my laptop sound better.
