not the sti tranny. the wrx tranny is
They both are weak, and to be honest the WRX is better. STi= FAIL! think I'm joking, go post on nasioc and find out for you're self
your speed was fail for losing to stock sti's
Yeah that. A MS3 will not lose to a stock STi from a roll
Yep thats what I was thinking, must of had a boost leak or something. And losing to slightly modded srt-4s? Give me a break! If my MS3 was that full of fail I would have traded it in months ago.
Probably or he's redlining his MS3 in every gear which really=FAIL
the srt4's...ok that kinda sucks but sti's? whats wrong with that
they do have more hp and same/more tq plus 4wheel drive....i thought STI's were supposed to be faster then a MS3
STI's are faster from a dig and in the 1/4mile. On a rolling start and from 0-155 NO.
A STi run's
4.5sec 60mph
13.3@101-102mph in the 1/4mile.
A MS3 run's
5.7sec 60mph
14.1@100-103mph depending on driver
From a roll it's NO contest, the MS3 will always be ahead!
STis are faster than the MS3. I've owned both (a 05 STi *cobb stage2*, and a MS3 w/ cobb sr) If it's true race that is (from dig). However you'll find the playing field leveled a bit on highway runs where the paracidic AWD takes it toll on the STi.
Personally as much as I loved launching the STi I always felt guilty about it- like I was abusing the drive-train. It's much safer, albeit less effective, to launch a 2wd car- it doesn't load the drive-train like AWD does. The excess energy simply turns into tire smoke.
PS I've been to the track a half a dozen times with my rwd coupe. I'll consistantly pulled better 60' times than any of the AWD cars I've seen and spoken to. This was with street tires no less. IMHO it goes RWD>AWD>FWD.
You're not comprehending what were talking about here. Of course the AWD gives the STi and advantage. You really want to compare numbers. Ok I'll break it down for you
A STi has 300hp vs the MS3's 263hp (flywheel)hp
STi weighs about 3298lbs AWD usually loses about a 22% drivetrain loss.
300 x .22%=66
300 - 66=234awhp
3298/234awhp= 14.09lbs per Hp
MS3 weighs 3150lbs FWD usually loses about a 15% drivetrain loss
263 x .15%= 39.45
263 - 39.45=223.55whp
3150/223.55whp= 14.09lbs per hp
You can clearly see the difference between the two, which is nothing as terms as hp pound for pound. Now I'm not debating the STi is faster from a dig because it is, it has 37more hp and AWD.
From a roll the STi will lose (Stock vs Stock). This is the My argument!
