All PM's replied. They'll ship today, look for tracking in your e-mail later this afternoon.

Thanks,
Jamie

No...They don't reduce the cable length; they reduce the distance from the stock pivot point, to the actual pivot point of the arm on the transmission. Go to www.jamiesplanet.com and look them up; you'll see install pictures that may help clear things up for you.

Thanks,
Jamie

Gotcha that makes more sense haha yea the stock shift plate looks like a hammer. Sorry 4/20 has long term effects.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Here's a shot of a Shift Plate installed on BOOOSTEDSPD6's Monster.

I'm a newbie to performance cars. I've heard lots of people talk about short throw shifters, and I get the basic concept I think, (shorter throw for shifts means you can shift quicker), but how much difference does it really make in daily driving? Does it "feel" better? Does it make it more difficult to hit the right gears (accidentally putting it in 5th when you meant to hit 3rd).

Basically, I think it sounds like a cool thing I could do to my car to give me more of that "sports car" feel without spending a lot of money or doing any really invasive work on the car. Is that right, or are there downsides to it?

Anybody ever switched to short throw and then decided they didn't like the feel and switched back?

Sorry for all the questions. Like I said, I'm a newb. :-)

The difference in my kits is night and day compared to stock. It's easier to find gears and most say that it's eliminated issues with missing gears. Nobody that I'm aware of has ever gone back to stock because they didn't like it.

Thanks,
Jamie

I bought an Injen CAI recently. Would I be able to install the short shift plate with the CAI in there, or would I have to remove it to get it in? Trying to decide if I should hold off on installing the CAI until I buy an SSP so that I don't have to take it back out.
