04 transmission issues limp mode

I have an 04 mazda 3 2.3 automatic 155xxx mi replaced engine went to take it around the block and ended up pushing it home. I put the matches back in my pocket for fear of burning it lol. it was acting kinda like it was slipping but I believe it was in limp mode at light was on stayed in I believe 3rd codes reset and am afraid to try and drive it and get them to come back on Its my fiances car she said there has been a few times where it didnt want to go to fourth dunno if thats related dunno where to start
