'04 Mazda6 radio swap

Hi, guys. I'm the proud owner of a 2004 Mazda6. Recently, I've started the slow process of upgrading some of my parts. When I started looking into upgrading my stereo, I found 2 at my local parts store that the tech guy told me would fit in my vehicle.

One is the 6-disc changer from a 2004 RX8, the other is the 6-disc changer from a 2006 Mazda6. I've had trouble finding anyone online who has tried this retrofit.

Everywhere I've looked, the cd changer that was actually made for my model is ridiculously expensive. Are either of these worth a shot, or should I just go with an aftermarket stereo/MP3 player?

Thanks, guys

Aftermarket, as the Bose (that I currently have) sucks. You need to the get the Metra Turbo 2 dash kit (180 from RPM) and a deck, and you're set. GL!

Your be a lot happier with a good aftermarket deck.
I only have a cheep $100 sony HU in mine and it sounds 100% better then the stock one did and it also plays MP3 CD's unlike the Mazda radios.
