OK, Back story
I bought this car today, guy i bought it from told me his son was driving the vehicle and hit a pot hole and vehicle cut out and died. before purchasing i verified cranking but no start and compression.. checked out good no worries.. hauled the car home..
He was told he needed a new ECU, but honestly i dont believe it at least not yet.. here is what he tried/did
he was able to manually fire fuel pump
manually fire coil packs
was getting signal at ecu for crank and cam position sensors.
it looks like he tested relays in underhood dont know results id assume good as they were still there..
What I checked tonight.. timing good, compression again, cranking, signal to fuel pump from ECU harness plug to fuel pump plug checked good... checked the alarm which this is a question mark for me.. it doesnt have the button i have read about but also it doesnt seem like it is still connected to vehicle 2 harnesses still go in but the starter/ignition portion of harness is cut and not connected nor is there a fuse in the fuse spot.. maybe an issue not sure but to me would seem like hitting a bump wouldnt cause the issue for this is it was always that way..
possibly check that out tomorrow.. I am going to check resistance on cmp and ckp also check for codes didnt have my scanner with me tonight
looking for other options before i buy an ECU
