Ok.. I bought this great 03.5 P5 and now I'm starting to put together the system to go in it.

It looks like this:

Stock HU
DavidNavone N-774V Line level to pre-amp adapter
Front - MB Quart QM 218.03CX
Rear - MB Quart 160-TX-3
Subs - I have 3 JL 10W0's but I really don' t want to take up the entire hatch area of the car with subs and electronics...

Main Amp: Old style Fosgate Punch 400.1 This is old one with the X-cards that Fosgate made in the 90's.

Sub: Old Style Fostage Punch 360.5 The same as the other. It will bridge Mono and supply plenty of power. I preiously used only one of the five channels to run the 3 JL's and it was plenty.

Now the interesting part. I have an Apple powerbook that I am taking apart and spreading out in the car. The 14.1 inch LCD will mount on a custom arm on the passenger side of the trans tunnel and the base, well, I'm not sure yet where I'm gonna put it. I'll use an FM transmitter to get the audio to the stock HU. I know the quality isn't going to win me any awards but that's not what I'm in it for. If it was I wouldn't be putting it in a P5 I drive to work.

Here is the big problem....

I really, really don't want to fill up the space behind the rear seats with electronics and subs. I'm really active and end up with all kinds of outdoor gear in there.

So, where do I put the electronics and what do I use for subs since the box for the 3 JL's would take up about 60% of the space behind the seats.

Oh, and to make it interesting, I really don't want to do a sparetire well sub enclosure.

I promise I'll take pictures as I go and write up a how-to for anything I come across that hasn't already been covered. Any thoughts are welcome and most appreciated.

I got 2 rather sizeable amps under my seats without a problem. I'm assuming you're possibly thinking of putting some of the computer underseat as well? There's alot of vertical space, and I think you could possibly stack them, perhaps with some form of insulating something between? I'd just make sure to drop a cooling fan inthere as well.

haha amps under the seats aka seat warmers ! j/k ne way, damn...u're gonna put all that ICE into ur car that u drive to work ? aren't u worried about getting ur stuff jacked if u drive it daily and stuff ? well, i hope this all goes well for u 'cause it sounds like an excellent setup !

My sedan was a little different, but you could still do this in a P5. It's just that you'd have less space to work with (which could make it easier!) Other than that, if you're too full uner the seats, just mount them to the back of the rear seats.

Thanks for the thoughts about getting my stuff jacked jflo. I work in a small building and park my car in front of my office window. I get to sit at my desk and look at my beautiful P5 all day:D No chance anyone could jack my stuff when I'm watchin.

So, I put the punch 360.5 under the passenger seat and it goes very nearly from seat rail to seat rail with no wiring. I tried turning it long ways and it goes almost back to the base of the back seat.... Also, there is a heater vent under the seat!! I wouldn't want to be adding heat to the electronics..bad news that.

I think though that mounted to the back of the back seats may be the best option. I'm going to look today and see if there is a way I can sink them in a bit or maybe even flush mount 'em.

I put the amps under each seat - stealth.

I also put the active crossover in the glovebox - worked out well.

System fuse at the bat and component fuses behind the little panel in the back seat (where the JDM drink holder goes).
