03.5 MSP's are not wired for fogs.

2003.5 MSP
After a ton of work i have come to this realization. The mystery clip on the inside of the wheel well is not for fog lights. I have tried hooking them up 10 different ways and they still do not work. I do have the switch from a P5 which is in the end slot of the group where the "dimmer" switch is. Coming off that switch are 4 wires, white/blue, red/white, green/black and 1 other i cant remember. 2 of those wires are for lighting up the switch itself while the other 2 are for the fogs.

Based on the way our cars are wired im guessing the red/white is the 12v source and one of the others is the ground (i have yet to use my voltmeter to find out) However none of the wires coming off the back of the switch are the same color as the wires that are connected to the "mystery clip"

Now i do understand that some of you might say "maybe mazda switched up the wire somewhere on the circuit" however i highly doubt that is the case as if you look where the clip is located there is another pair of wires that are the exact same color (blue/red, black). Those wires are powering the pump for your windshield washer fluid. I'm guessing this mystery clip might be for something similar, i have no idea what at the moment.

Either way, i dunno what to do. I had it all wired up a few weeks ago but never got around to putting the bulbs in. I assumed it was going to work but I put my silverstars in today, clicked the switch in, anxiously run to the front of my car to check it out and to my suprise the fogs werent on. I retraced every crimp/tap. I re-did everything to make sure there were no points where the signal could be getting lost. This clip is definitely not for the fogs. As for now, im pretty ******* pissed off.

Just for you skeptics, i also used my voltmeter to test all the wires and none of them were giving off a 12v signal. I tested them with simply the headlights on, the headlights on and the switch to the "on" position and every other option capable of testing.

If anyone has any more information PLEASE SHARE!

Simple question, have you removed the handbrake?
If the handbrake is on, then fogs won't light up (shocked)

ARE U SERIOUS? geez nice safety feature lol.......if that doesnt work matty...just tap the fog lite power wire into the power wire for the stock "fog "yellow lite on the headlite...and wire ur switch wire inbetween to bypass it if u dont want the fogs on for some reason...that way u dont have to fiddle with two switchs just to turn ur fogsd on...just turn ur regualr lights on :)

The P5 has a fog relay under the dash above the dead pedal. I don't know if this helps you at all. It's about 1.5 to 2 feet away from the switch.

fog relay?? what does this do?

Probably turns off Fogs if the highbeams come on...In most states it is illegal to have your highs and fogs on at the same time.

Yes, your missing the fog relay. I traded my fogs for the 03.5 msp lip and all went well in the installation of the fogs on the msp.

Nice How-To, I may be putting fogs in my 03.5 yet...
