Well first off my friends white SE-R has new mods to it and now that he did a little shopping, i think his warranty has been voided now since he removed the balance shaft, and also added the Hotshot header. "previously all he had was eibach springs, AEM CAI, OBX exhaust. But damm all i have to say is cha ching. Louie with a Type-S wanted to run the SE-R since it's been upgraded. But the Type-S isn't stock either. It has Aem CAI, some kind of exhaust and a Type-R computer. "well they went to run em and to start off the SE-R took the S off the line stayed about a 1car away then when i heard the SE-R switching to third all i seen was the SE-R's taillights flashing meaning to me Wow my buddy won, but couldn't tell. I ask Louie who won, "Louie said your buddy did by 1 1/2 car lenghs. i said dammmmm..

BTW: isn't my buddy's SE-R's warranty voided now..

balance shafts void warrenty...which is stupid...because it is acctually better for the engine not to have something restricing the vibrations, and it also allows you to add 1.5 more quarts of oil into the car for smoother operation.

gaining 10 whp, and like 10 tq is nice too...my numbers are probally a little high, it's more like 9whp and 8 tq something around those lines.

the Type S takes nicely to mods too, my money would of been on the Type S, cuz they take well to ECUs as well.

your buddy should do balance shafts next, so he can launch the spec at higher rpms.

I think i refered to that when i started the topic, I stated in the first sentence that i think his warranty is voided b/c he removed the balance shafts and added the HS-header. Yes his base SE-R is really freakin quick.(naughty)

It's probably the driver. Plus the RSX looks better anyway. I wouldn't be caught dead in an SE-R no matter how fast it is. Just like I wouldn't be caught dead in a Dodge Neon SRT, even if it does an acclaimed 0-60 in sub-6 seconds.

No it wasn't the Driver. the SE-R is modded pretty good to scrap out the type-S. I agree that the Type-S looks better than the SE-R stock, but when you add springs and other simple mods to the SE-R" it can also look as good as the RSX.

oh yea, then he should do motor mounts, the stock motor mounts are useless, it's hard to launch at above 2000 rpm, with motor mounts he should beable to launch at 2500 rpm maybe even 3000 rpm...but motor mounts will def help with his launch

Will motor mounts help with the wheel hop I get in my mp3?

yes.

Not too sure how your motor mounts are...but usually motormounts kinda like ( o ) with the "o" being the mount, and the things around it being open air, are left not filled from the factory, so they won't beable to absorb the torque created from the engine as well. I'm not really too sure about the physics on this, I don't know too much about it, so that's my wild guess.

Basically, motor mounts, are not really motor mounts, they're just fillings, like things that fill in the space to help absorb the engines movement from the torque, and thus reduces wheelhop/spin. Lowering spings help to, by lowering the center of gravity.

You can either buy pre-fab fillins, or you could get like some window wield, lift the engine up, and fill them in, as a cheap ghetto alternative. The only problem is, it's probally not as strong as buying inserts, and you gotta let them dry for some time before you can put the engine back into the car (since you need to lift up the engine to get to the mounts)
