i looked in the forums but i could not find anything on this... I need a little help my ABS does not work after testing it in the snow today. There was no light lit on the dash so does anyone know what it can be??

This may sound stupid, but does you car have ABS. I know mine doesn't, it didn't come with it. I have a base 03.5 P5.

Oh, sorry about that. Would a bad sensor cause the ABS to malfunction? I wish I could help trouble shoot but none of my cars have ABS (glare)

check and see if you have abs first...pop the fuse box cover off and see if you have a fuse in the ABS slot
i have a "top of the line" 02 p5 and mine doesnt have abs

I'll echo what is being said above. First, make sure you have ABS. Another way to check is to look at the wheel hub...there should be a cog ring on each wheel. Second, if you do have ABS, does the ABS light illuminate (in the left bottom corner of the cluster) when you turn the key on? Check the fuses for sure, but confirm you have ABS and that the light is working first. Get back to us with that info.

He said he had it cause it was working last winter. Even more simply he could check for that big aluminum block where all the lines go into. What is that called, the distribution block or something. Like I said I never worked on ABS.

yeah i have ABS there is no light on the dash so it must no be a sensor cause it would be lit wondering if i could use a obd reader maybe it will pick it up im going to look at the fuse box in the morning to see if the fuse is good

The light should illuminate every time you turn the key, just like your oil, airbag, e-brake and other lights do. If you're not seeing a light, either it's burned out but should be illuminated or there's an issue that is disabling the ABS but not illuminating the light. You said the ABS doesn't work...I don't mean to harp on this, but you're sure? I mean, you did a few hard stops and just locked up and slid? Have you checked the ABS fuse yet?

It might be that some disc brakes are too thin. I did change my front disc and pads in the front and just the pads at the rear brakes and after a while the ABS light came on and off, sometimes on for 2 months and sometimes off for a week or two. Then the ABS light stayed on all the times. I did replace the rear disc cause and put new calipers and new pads and ABS light came off since then...Sensors are very expensive to get check by a tech....Make sure of your thickness of you disc.
For the price of new disc that is cheap, it does not worth to get the turn.

if you have abs sensor failure your abs light AND brake light will go on, its happening to me right now, code was checked by my mechanic to confirm that it is my driver side rear that is blown. and since you have no ABS light i doubt you have ABS... unless the bulb was taken out or blown.. but then again, if you have sensor failure your brake light will remain illuminated at all times as well. check for the ABS fuse like the others said, and see if its blown
