Dim, sorry about the wait. The dealership did rebuild my tranny, no questions asked. They put in a new 2nd and 3rd gear, shiftforks, bearing, clutch, preasure plate and a bunch of other parts. I'm glad I got the 7 year, seventy thousand mile cuz i did pay one cent

To sum it all up, the tranny is gonna go soon if you have this problem.

FC3, is the tranny auto or stick?

I have 35k miles on my car... you'll know when the tranny is going to go when 3rd gear grinds with the clucht fully engaged. Hopefully I'll hear from Mazda on Monday and let you know what happens. Im gonna tell you guys this from experience. My friend has a 2002 protege ex with the full catback racing beat exhaust and i have the PR5 with the Mazdaspeed axel back exhaust. I beat him when we race. The racing beat my have better lowend at 1st gear but from 2nd on i take him.

I got my 5sp LAZER BLUE PR5, fully loaded, with the Mazdaspeed exhaust and tints for $18,000 with 4 miles on the car. I love my Mazda.
