Hey Ottawa

I live in Toronto and went to Ottawa to get my P5. I bought it from Phil @ Performance Mazda. He gave me an alright deal compared to what the pricks in Toronto were offering.

That's kind of surprising. I would have thought that Toronto would have been cheaper. Maybe it's the type of car? My brother bought his WRX and Audi A4 from dealerships in Toronto. At the time, these cars were fairly new and the Ottawa dealerships weren't budging on the sticker price. Again, maybe because it's the class of car. *shrug*

As for the scare tactic of leaving the dealership, you definitely don't get that as much in Ottawa unless the dealer is REAL desparate to make a sale. Normally, it's the dealerships selling domestic cars that are more desparate. As someone else pointed out, there will be another person who will come along and haggle less.

wow, looks like i got mine for cheapest??? I actually thought we paid too much and 14,500 US would have been more fair.

maybe in cali no one is buying them and they were more eager to sell or something

just came back from the dealer. I finally test drove it and after started talking about price....i can get it for $900 less than advertised. What do you guys think?

is there still an aditional $500 rebate on the car? or are they willing to throw anything else in? maybe a free had and a bumper guard? LoL.. take what u can get. -=)

no, i have a choice to take the $900 or spend some or all of it on accesories.

Since its such a popular car, there's no extra dealing i guess

now i've got a delima.....midnight blue or laser blue? I saw what laser blue looks like..i'm not sure about it...darker than i expected

I got my 5sp LAZER BLUE PR5, fully loaded, with the Mazdaspeed exhaust and tints for $18,000 with 4 miles on the car. I love my Mazda.

i don't know guys, laser blue is rubbing me the wrong way. I'm not sure if I like it or not....i'd have to see it on a newly washed car in bright sunlight...all cars at the dealer were dirty.

About the testdrive..what a sweet ride...i was going 130 km/h and the motor had plenty of reserve power...although it revs kinda high, but it makes it more sporty...handles like a much more expensive car on the freeway.

I did hear the cold rattle by the way! It doesnt bother me though..I'm used to an '88 chev sprint 3 cylinder :)
