P5 Steelies with tires (New York)

P5 recently totalled, no more need for these. Wheels have a bit of surface rust but are straight and not damaged. The winter tires may have another season left in them. Located in Pomona, NY. Looking for $40, or make me an offer. Pick up only.

    Heat shield fell off

Well, the cylindrical-shaped exhaust heat shield (over the cat?) finally rusted and vibrated itself off today. Couple of questions: 1) Is it even worth trying to get a new one refitted? From what I can gather, they don't really do much. I'm not in the habit of parking over long, dry grass...

    FS: Protege5 AWR Endlinks

***** SOLD ***** WYSIWYG - no washers, bolts etc. - a bit grotty, but I couldn't be bothered to clean them up. They work fine, I just could never fix the damn clunking. First one to offer me $15 gets them (shipped to mainland US) These are rear endlinks.

    Torque Converter Not Locking Up

There appears to be an issue with my transmission (it's the "sporttronic" auto). Ever since goiing in for repairs (front right impact), the TC doesn't seem to want to lock up (60mph, very light throttle) which is affecting fuel economy. It does occassionally lock up, but then unlocks within a...

    P0401

So the car threw a CEL and it's P0401 - insufficient flow in the exhaust gas recirculation system. *&^%ing EGR valve again - I only cleaned it 10K ago - grrr - I hate the damn thing - I'm sure the engineers at Mazda could have made it just a little harder to get off and on if they'd tried...

    What did I do wrong?

I'm not quite sure, but it must have been something, because I was dreading changing my headlight bulbs after reading all the "horror stories" on here about plugs and clips and broken bits and washer bottles in the way. Imagine my surprise when I started to do the job. Driver side first - pull...

    endlinks

For the love of God, does nobody apart from AWR sell rear endlinks for the P5? Hopefully, I'll be replacing my rear sway bar soon, and am anticipating having to replace the stock endlinks. I've searched for hours and can find nowhere selling these - I just want a decent set that will work...

Need help to locate knocking noise

No, it's nothing to do with my engine, I'm sure of that. It started a while ago, not long after I changed brake pads on all 4 corners, which makes me think I might have disturbed something whilst doing the job. I'm fairly sure I did a proper job as the brakes actually work great - no grabbing...

    O/T - humor

This'll probably get moved to another area, but to be honest, I couldn't be arsed looking for the right place to put it, so call me lazy. Humor The personality test is classic. I think it helps if you know a bit about the UK, but it's funny as hell anyway.

    Brake bleeding

Do these things actually work: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006BIC58/qid=1122332229/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_sbs_1/102-7119887-3486560?v=glance&s=hi&n=507846 Or should I just use the tried and tested assistant/pedal pumping method and save myself a few dollars?
