2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

Although I didn't mention it here, my mechanic installed new outer tie rod ends (that I furnished) at the same time as the LCA's as the boots were torn. Shortly thereafter he installed new stabilizer bar bushings (OEM rubber that I supplied). This made the final ( although smaller) step to...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

Garages don't figure it the way you did. For example, one Mavis tire dealer broke it down this way, $214 per LCA, discounted from $315, labor and wheel alignment coming out to $875. State inspection and Emissions would be another $100. Then the state has to get its cut at 6% tax. I checked a few...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

...for the feedback regarding reddish coating. Good to know - I haven't bought many bolts yet - I just got the car in November. I did not go for OEM LCA this time but I am giving BECK/ARNLEY brand LCAs (Turkey built). Thanks! Thanks! I feel like I would recommend people pay for this service...

...Colombia had most front suspension parts replaced at 33K miles on his 2020 CX-5 Sig. CX-5 Feels squirrelly In recent incident there’s a broken LCA ball joint reported here on a 2K-mile 2023 CX-50! Control Arm Sheers off on a 2023 CX-50 with 2k miles For comparison, my 1998 Honda CR-V EX...

    Mazda Replacement Parts Origin?

My replacement control arms and stabilizer bar end links came from Japan. I think the LCA mounting bolts as well. Purchased online from Mazda dealer. Don't know about shocks and struts.

Urgent! Impending Lower Control Arm Ball Joint Failure? 2015 CX-5

Thanks! @Chris_Top_Her … think spring project for me is to replace that squeaky driver side LCA.. might as well do both if that is the low cost.. covered under TSB but obviously not under warranty now ..followed by alignment

2013~2016 Knock noise from CX-5 front

...on. Then I replaced the transmission mount because it was blown and obvious. But, now I'm thinking, the vibration I felt from jacking up the LCA and dropping it back down, the motor mounts it right there, next to it. And it being "anchor" brand, that it might be that crappy mount. Thinking...

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Some minor klunks and knocks have been occasionally coming from the front suspension, lately. Had a shop do the LCA "dance": Lower Control Arms, left/right Tie Rod Ends, left/right Alignment Checked all other bushings, links, arms -- all else seemed fine, albeit aged; will likely get several...

2013~2016 CX-5 Suspension noises and steering feels mushy

...in the future if I ever need it again. I would supply the parts and just pay the labor. The bolt by the transmission pan for the driver's side LCA really sucks trying to get off. Wobble bit required, but even so, made it a bit hard to get the leverage needed to break the bolt seal. Impact...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

...inspections or emission testing could total $100. Those used to always be cheap so I guess I'm still in the dark ages. Checking the invoice, my LCA's were purchased 9-2-22 from MazdaSwag for $165.15 each. But the numbers were KD3534350s and KD3534300s, so different from yours. I went with OEM...

Control Arm Shears off on a 2023 CX-50 with 2k miles

Here’s my take. Even if the LCA ball joint failed at 70K+ miles, some of them we can see it still had good rubber boot from photos, it’s still too early to fail and caught owners by surprise in such dangerous situation. My 1998 Honda CR-V with 190K miles still has all original ball...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

...-- I was pressing it out of the knuckle as it was seized in there pretty good. The actual ball joint fell apart / disconnected when I unbolted LCA from the body and maneuvered it / pushed down on it. Took no force. I was surprised tbh. It was in a bad shape and I'm glad I got to it. After...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

I got myself Bernzomatic TS8000KC Kit (the yellow can one) + a hammer and some punches and went to town . Took about 1 hour per bolt per side give or take. Mainly because I was taking my time. I did replace the bolts with new ones (and nuts) as I destroyed the nuts in the process of hammering...

    CX-9 Front End Creak

Yea, my 2022 is outside this TSB on all three situations. But that doesn't make your vehicle immune to the problem. My dealer installed a new LCA because they thought the stick-slip on the LCA foerward bushing was likely. I was impressed. But it wasnt it. I did soak the heck out of the...

2013~2016 CX-5 DIY Control Arm Replacement Difficulty?

Apparently Mazda uses different front LCAs for your 2014 CX-5 and @madar‘s 2016.5 and my 2016 CX-5. The part numbers on your front LCAs are KD35-34-350S / KD35-34-300S and ours are KA0G-34-350J / KA0G-34-300J L / R. For the price, I paid $285.23 for a right LCA which is 20% off from...

    2022 CX-9 Creaking Videos

The only things I havent removed from the car are the struts and upper bearings/mounts. I would love to press those LCA rubber bushings out and slather them up with silicone grease. That would be interesting to see

...is finally gone. I thought all those control arms would never line up! If anyone needs to care (and I hope you don't), the outer rearward rear LCA bolt and the lower shock mount bolt are the same. Hardware store replacement is M12-1.25x80. Explodey view: Mazda REAR SUSPENSION MECHANISMS...
