I just finished dealing with some issues I was having regarding the Dongar Pro adapter for my 2022 Mazda CX-9, powering a Redtiger F17 Elite 3-channel dashcam.
Long story short, after some troubleshooting with Dongar's Live Chat, the current version of the Dongar Pro adapter isn't designed to...
I don't personally have a brand preference, but I like slant cut tips that follow the curve of the bumper. Colour/finish depends on your preference, but I like matte black or chrome.
For my CX-9, the OEM tips are spot welded to the exhaust pipe, so I had to get tips that slide over the OEM...
I'm a lot less particular about my tire pressures. Since I have two sets of wheels, I adjust the pressures when the wheels are swapped over. Aside from that, I just do a visual check before my commutes to work or before driving home, and I'll check pressures whenever I do any basic maintenance...
For the CX-5 and CX-9 turbo engines, Mazda has never (and currently still doesn't) require or even recommend full synthetic. As far as I know, there are no TSBs or anything of the like instructing techs to switch to full synthetic to solve "turbo issues".
I do agree that 5W-30 full synthetic...
Looks like the Dongar Pro module isn't going to cut it for me and this Redtiger F17 Elite 3-channel cam. I received confirmation that the adapter will work with Garmin, Nextbase and Vantrue dashcams with Parking Modes, and that they are working on an adapter that will work with Redtiger and...
I put a trickle charger on the battery overnight to prep it for winter. I think this is the OEM battery, which means it's probably at least 3 years old, which then means that I'll probably have to swap it out this year or next year. Our climate is hard on batteries.
Mounted the JB4 in the engine bay, secured the loose wiring with zipties and connected everything. Tested it out and everything seems to be working great. Back on Map 2.
Candurin is still providing assistance, just on a less frequent basis as he may be busy with other commitments. Please try to be patient, and he will respond after a few days.
Interesting discussion, but given that this thread was posted in the CX-50 subforum, I'd ask that those discussing the CX-5's active grille shutters continue the discussion in this thread.
Or, if you'd like to create a thread not specific to any model, please post it in the Lounge. Thanks
I had drilled and slotted rotors on my previous car. At first they didn't seem to make any noise, but after a while (maybe 6 months to a year?), I started hearing a similar noise as I cruised down residential streets with high fences. I guess the noise would bounce off the fences, and I'd be...
Installed a Dongar Pro dashcam adapter to power my dashcam. Initially I got the standard Dongar rearview mirror tap thinking it would supply constant power, but its designed to only supply switched power when then ignition is on. The Dongar Pro gives me a few choices - switched power with the...
NOTE: For anyone planning to do their own ATF service, if you have one of those cheap Bluetooth OBD2 readers, you can download a free Android app to get the ATF temp readout. The app I used is called "Car Scanner ELM OBD2", from developer Car Scanner LLC.
Diff fluid and ATF changed over the...
@sinistriel@, just tried it out and it's not working. Tried Auto and that didn't work either. I left it blank, then pressed the Test button at the bottom, and it gave me a short string of characters that started with a 7. I tried putting that string into the Header field and it let me save the...
That makes sense. I'll add that lowering pressure slightly can give some tires more "bite" in snow, specifically those with aggressive "sidewall-tread" designs like Falken Wildpeaks or Pirelli Scorpion A/T Plus tires.
They look great in green! I agree that Mazda needs more "fun" colours for the sporty compacts. A new yellow and green would be awesome. There's a clear trend shown in the pic below..
I also think the new Melting Copper Metallic from the 70/90 would look great on the Miata.
