    I do have a crack on the exhaust manifold. Could that be the cause? Or would it have to be a bigger leak than that? I don't think it's boost gauge related because we can still build boost in all other gears, just not in first.

    For me, it's the sound air being sucked in. The sound in that video doesn't sound like mine at all. That sound sounds more like transmission whine as opposed to mine that literally sounds like air being sucked in.

    Was it obviously loose; like to the touch? Or did you just take it off, put it back on and it was good? Just asking because my intake whistles too, and I'm trying to troubleshoot it.

    MAF location is stock, right after the air filter. Boost does not spike; it just hits 3psi and won't go any higher (barely makes it to 3psi on the gauge). I will check the couplers as soon as I can. The loud whistling intake is also causing me to think that it's a leak somewhere. I didn't...

    Hey guys. Here's the situation: Alright, interesting deal here. My MSP, ever since I owned it, has always idled at -21 vacuum (approximately). Deceleration (while in gear) was -23/-24 approximately. It would also properly boost to 6.5psi when I would step on it. All was good. Then, 2 days ago...

    Same with me. I always figured it was normal because 1st is such a short gear. Anyways, don't want to snap that lsd so I usually don't step on it in first gear anyway.

    Alright, MAF is on the right way. I'm thinking it's one of the couplers of my intake that's leaking a tiny bit. How do I check my couplers for leaks? My idle vac is good but I heard that you can still have a leak.

    There has to be another way though...Mazda didn't put anything on it to know which way is the correct way? Can any damage be done by switching it sides and then going out for a drive to test it out?

    How would you know if the MAF is backward? My MSP has that same jerking sensation around 3500K sometimes when I punch it.
