New Owner, have some work to do

The problem I had was the tabs on the radio were bent out to the point where when you stuck the tools in they slid under the tab instead of over. I ended up gaining access so the sides of the radio by removing some the glovebox and a panel on the driver side. Once I did this I was able to push...

RSX seats...has anybody swapped them into a Protege?

OP, car seats are very easy to remove, just go ahead and pop the 4 bolts to get your measurements. Depending on how crazy I've wanted to get cleaning I've removed a seat for better access. In any case, if you have access to some fabrication tools you can make some adapter plates easily. If you...

New Owner, have some work to do

Detailed the car today, managed to get the smaller scratches out, the Adam's products plus a Porter Cable work wonders. Also detailed the Acura to get it ready to sell. Definately making some significant progress. Hopefully I can figure out how to get the old radio out tomorrow, plus I'd like to...

New Owner, have some work to do

Ok so last night: The o-ring for the thermostat worked great, the biggest difference between it and the factory part is there was no bump on the o-ring so you just have to match the jiggle pin up with the indent on the thermostat housing. Put everything back together, flushed the system and ran...

Need some brakes pads & rotors SUGGESTIONS?

I am not sure if it is necessary but I recommend rotors with directional vanes. They are more expensive but they dissapate heat quicker. They are a worthwhile upgrade on my truck because it is heavy and for my S2000 (so I can push it to the ragged edge). It may be overkill for a P5 for daily...

New Owner, have some work to do

Well I had fun this evening. Somehow I ordered the wrong passenger side motor mount, I'll end up taking a bath on shipping, but at least it is the one that is easy to get to. I installed the radiator, air box, battery, etc. I filled up the system with distilled water and noticed a leak. The...

    Squealing belt 2.0L

If it has been squealing for a while the belt may be glazed and no matter what you do you won't be able to fix it. I would suggest replacing the belt and tensioning it properly. Mine does the same thing, once I'm back on the road with it I am going to swap out the belt and see if that fixes the...

New Owner, have some work to do

Thanks for the heads up on the VICS, I'll give the dealer a call to see if the recall was done. I installed the EGR valve tonight, it kicked my butt! I had planned on getting a lot more done tonight. The canadian EGR is bigger by just enough to make the install a PITA. I was very thankful for...

New Owner, have some work to do

Thanks for sharing the info, I will probably go through your parts list tomorrow to see if there is anything I could use. Those seats sure do look nice. I'll have to come by a meet sometime, of course I am slackin pretty bad from the S2ki meets lately.

New Owner, have some work to do

Update: I replaced the lower and drivers side motor mounts this evening, very easy. I put in the new thermostat, but before I did that I ran water through the motor for about ten minutes until the water came out clear. I also degreased the engine bay before putting in the new radiator...

Both brake and ABS light on.... help. Thanks.

There is a shop manual available on the forum that describes what the lights/combination of lights mean. I just got my P5 and have found the manual to be quite helpful, it is a big file and the server it is on is very slow so it will take you a while to download it.

Need some help before I swap my headunit

I decided to go ahead and order a HU so I imagine I'll find out for sure this weekend when I install it. I'll report my findings.

    Cooling Fan Issues

Are you sure both fans are coming one? I think one is directly linked to the A/C while the other is for cooling. Please forgive me for asking simple questions, I like to start simple and work to the more complicated.

HELP!!!! Grinding noise and brake light on

If you have a stuck caliper you are going to notice a burning smell. Let the vehicle cool down, then take a short ride ~1 mile. Stop the car and go to each wheel, if one wheel is emitting noticably more heat than the rest you have a caliper issue. If you have two wheels opposite each other (eg...

    Cooling Fan Issues

Without knowing everything about these cars I can tell you on a previous vehicle I had a bad temperature sensor that told the fan when to come on. I just removed the radiator on my P5 and I know that it does not have this sensor on the radiator. Just a dumb question, did you check all of the...

Need some help before I swap my headunit

I was reading some other threads yesterday, I think I put in the search "factory subwoofer" and the consensus that I got was that the signal comes off the rear speakers. I was thinking about swapping out the headunit but I am going to hold off for now.

New Owner, have some work to do

I pulled the EGR valve this morning, the valve was definately sticking, I thought I might be able to loosen everything up but one of the screws broke off in the valve so looks like it's a new EGR valve for me. I replaced the front door speakers and secured the subwoofer. I am stuck until Tuesday...

Full HiBoost Turbo Kit, AutoGrimmig(eBay) Header with Gaskets, Non-Foulers

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. After looking at what is involved with EGR woe's and how quickly I want to get this thing back on the road I think I am going to pass for now. This is a good deal which is why the decision is so tough. GLWS!
