    $1,000 power project?

no, no, no. Properly designed cams will not "need" tuning with camgears. They may benefit a little from them, but then don't need them. The same holds true for the ignition system. Aftermarket cams are a true drop-in item.

    $1,000 power project?

If you really have $1000 to spend, take your money and call one of the cam shops and have them make you a REAL set of upgraded cams. The ones available now are a joke. A good set will get you a good more more hp but will cost about $600 to have the first ones made.

    Transmission Grinding Noise!!!!!

Good luck getting that tranny petition to work! The dsm trannies have had this problem since day one, 12yrs later, still no recall. Understand that recalls are really "safety recalls", manufacturers don't do them unless there is evidence of someone getting killed or injured by the failing...

    5spd transmission fluid

What weight transmission fluid does the car need, and how many quarts. Wife has the car today so I can't check the manual and I was going to order the fluid today.

    5spd transmission fluid

What are you guys running for transmission fluid. I was considering Redline, to see if helps the tranny shift a little smoother. When it's cold it doesn't always want to go into reverse.

    "Crash" Bolts???

My money is still on the toe being off. :)

    "Crash" Bolts???

1/2 degree of negative camber isn't going to be noticeable. On my autocrosser, I have 2 1/2 degrees of negative camber and it's hardly noticeable. You most likely have your toe out of alignment.

    Under drive Pulleys????

The oem pullies don't balance the engine. They isolate vibrations created from either the engine or the accessories from each other. Whether or not this isolation is necessary is debateable.

k&n vs CAI or short ram

If CAI's are only giving 3hp, they are worth purchasing. Get the K&N panel filter, and then remove the silencer/snorkel section that goes between the filter box and the radiator.

    i want an intake

Another alternative. Purchase the $35 K&N replacement filter. Install that, then remove the snorkel that's between the airbox and the radiator. Also remove the resonator box that's below that snorkel. Those pieces are there to make the car quiet for those people who care about that stuff.

    High Compression

From looking at their hp numbers and the cam specs. There is a good bit of power hiding in the cams alone. We should petition one of the companies to produce a set of cams for us. Does anyone know how much clearance we have to increase lift? Or how much the lift the springs can handle...

    High Compression

The ECU uses this as it's basis for adjusting the timing. If you can advance it 5 degrees, then you will be adding +5 degrees of timing throughout the rpm band. This is good! Unless you're running boost and you want to reduce timing so you can run more boost. Now another problem that will...

    High Compression

OKay, so there are a few possibilities then. -Make it so that the pickup sensor can be slide and thus adjusted. There may need to be a special bracket made, or maybe you can notch the sensor itself. -Adjust the intake cam, by one tooth one way or the other which would adjust both cam timing...

    High Compression

I don't think it's hardwired. From a cost point of view, why would you add extra hardware?? I think this information is being passed down by people who don't have a "hacked product" to sell, so instead they talk bad about the ECU in hopes of getting you to buy the more expensive Stand Alone...

using an apex AFC for fuel under boost

Okay, so the ECU reads NO signals at WOT? How does it know the engine rpm? How does it know if you're getting knock? There has to be at least a small set of signals that the ECU is monitoring at WOT. I can NOT buy into the idea that the ECU is blindly following a set of predetermined maps...

    High Compression

What do you mean by "hard programmed". From a programmers point of view, that means that the WOT maps are specified with hardware components. (Which honestly would be silly to do) But if tbat were the case, then it would be easier to change then changing software....

    free mods

    1) Has anyone adjusted the ignition timing to get a little extra power? If so, how do you adjust it? 2) Has anyone adjusted the cam timing to get more power?

    ****** Tranny

Just wanted to respond a little on some of this stuff, initiall33, I'm not flaming you, just used yours because it was near the end of the list. 1) This is by design. They're not going to even entertain this one. 2) This sounds like a problem with clutch adjustment, not a tranny problem 3)...

    ground control

It's not really a "different" kit. When you call you can order the kit with whatever springs you want, including different lengths. Someone who has the kit that maintains the stock height, read the numbers off of all of the springs. That way, we can know what length springs to request when...
