my new celly

GLA45
this is my new phone, it's pretty cool. it runs a version of windows, can synch with outlook and all that fun stuff, plays mp3's and videos through windows media player, and has a slot for sd memory so i can store more mp3's and use it as an mp3 player. i thought it was pretty cool, a bit more than i wanted to spend but still cool. it's the motorola mpx200, and going from the old v60 to this is sweet. off to find some cool ringtones and backgrounds :) anybody got any good sites for ringtones and whatnot?

Nice phone. Needs 850mhz support though. :D
i don't even know what that is, so i don't think i need it :)

i'll deal with bad battery, i'm used to just plugging my phone in every night so it's not a big deal. now if they would just finish porting my number over so i can get calls on it...

what company are u porting to and from? if your porting into cingular i might be able to help you..
just let me know
John
for ringers and stuff

i use around 3500 - 4000 minutes a month.. + text + pictures + everything else.. so.. thats why the battery was s*** to me -=P

It means it won't function on the 850mhz band, which is what the biggest part of the US's GSM network is.

i ported from cingular to at&t, who is owned by cingular now so it should be easy, but still no luck and at&t's phone system is special, you call one number, go through this whole thing, then it says for technical assitance call the same number you just called and makes you go through the whole thing again. i sent an email and will give it a little more time given the holiday and all

i use like 200 minutes/month and probably not much of the other stuff, so i think my battery may be ok :)

at+t is the worst company to port to or from..
the reason? when porting started all (except at+t) the companies used the same software to port numbers and make requests. at+t however made their own software. and it failed miserably. -=\
good luck with your port..if u were porting the other way i woulda been able to help u..
- works for cingular -=P

i got a text a little while ago that said i can receive calls now :) so i guess all is good, i haven't tried it yet though

Actually Cingular doesn't own AT&T, it still has to go through the FTC and such.
