Torque Steer

Hey all, I’ve got a 2012 FWD CX-9 with extensive front-end work (rack, tie rods, control arms, mounts, etc). Still getting excessive torque steer under acceleration.

While lowering the subframe, I noticed the rear bushings had a loose fit around the body studs. Wondering if this is by design or if worn bushings could be contributing to flex and steering instability.

Has anyone replaced or upgraded these bushings on a FWD CX-9? Any success with SuperPro SPF5108K or Febest alternatives?

Appreciate any insight anyone may have— trying to eliminate this last gremlin.

I should have mentioned that I get torque steer to the right on acceleration and a pull to he left on deceleration. Most of the front end suspension/steering is new so I'm thinking it's a bushing(s) that are flexing and causing some movement. Whatever is moving on acceleration is then returning to its original position when braking. Aside from this annoyance everything else seems tight and stable.

I fixed it. Turned out to be a failed Ball Joint only installed 1-1/2 years ago with R/L Control arm replacement. Failed with only a little over 10,000 miles on it, should have lasted 100,000 miles. My bad for buying discounted parts off of Amazon. Lesson learned... spend the money for quality parts for jobs that are hard and take a lot of time (like suspension). Used a Moog ball joint and it was a bear to get in/out of the control arm. Had to use my Dremel to get the pinch bolt in as the last 1/2 mm of the ball joint just refused to go in the knuckle despite a couple hours of "persuasion". All up and running now with basically a whole new front end. I hope that's it for wrenching for a while, I'd much rather be out fishing.
