How to clear CX-5 Keyless system Malfunction error?

Due to a logic glitch in my new Compustart remote starter and my 2018 CX5, I ended up in the end, unable to start my car even after removing/resetting both battery cables (5+ minutes) per installers suggestion. Once I got a battery boost. Systems in the car came back on and started up.

However, I'm now left with the Keyless Malfunction error showing up in the display. I tried the "open the door & hit unlock button on the fob" and I got the door lock cycling like it predicted. It didn't get rid of the message. I also tried my spare fob (which needs a new CR2025 apparently).

Any good suggestions on how to clear that error out?

I've never seen that fault but I would start with a OBD scanner and see if you get anything. Sometimes you have faults even if you don't see a check engine light. I've bought a tuning software a while back and it comes with a computer software.

Through that software I can see and delete not just the usual CEL faults but also some other faults that you don;t normaly detect, I would not see any light on the dashboard. For example, I could see faults related to the touch screen, the ghost touch generated a fault code.

ForScan can get rid of that error by forcing a module reset.
