It is such a shame that the north american market is so hastily moving away from sedans.

Then again, I'm sure the crossovers suspension is good on the horrendous "roads" we have here in Canada, but even living in Canada, I haven't seen AWD as an absolute necessity either. So i'm kind of lost with this whole crossover craze and left disappointed.

Nonetheless, I appreciate the reliability and engineering prowess of my 6, and can carry over this appreciation to the CX-5 without question. Just leave the AWD system and turbocharger out of the mix, lol.

Doesn't look too different in profile from the current gen. Thanks goodness they didn't move to the bulbous ass of the CX-70/90!

I do hope that the new CX-5 will still have the tiptronic transmission. I drive in manual mode all the time and this detail alone kept me away from CX-70/90.

I guess I am the only one here who likes the look! 😆
You're not alone! 😆 I'm digging the new look so far, remember the reaction to the second gen CX-5 and people still bought it in droves, takes time to get used to change. :giggle:

Also watch out for the rendered images, seems some people are confusing those cartoonish looking renders with the real thing! The official Mazda teaser pics are absolute ace, the way they use lighting to tease the design is a thing of beauty.

Oh and bring on the new badges!

Someone on Reddit mentioned they have seen the vehicle and it sounds like they are a dealer. They mentioned that the word MAZDA is on both the rear hatch and on the steering wheel, replacing the logo. The Hybrid SkyActiv-z will be replacing the Turbo engine which suggests it could be both fuel efficient and high performance. Mazda has claimed it will have the largest backseat space in the segment (I guess we will see on that).

But the biggest issue is that he mentioned that there are no longer any controls or knobs and that everything is controlled through the touch screen. 😡 That would be a deal breaker for any future Mazda for me. But this would also explain what Mazda Germany was referring to with "uncluttered interior" for the new CX-5.

We will find out in a week.
