What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Got my WeatherTechs in for all 3 rows. Still waiting on my Husky trunk tray. Didn’t realize there was 4,000 little floor mats in the 2nd/3rd row. Left the ones on the side of the 2nd row because reasons.

Installed some oem mudflaps today. Here is the picture of the rears that needs to be cut out. Rear instructions are not great but figured it out. I'd recommend taking the underneath bolts and pop rivets to allow the inner guard to give you more room to make the cuts (rear). Once you swing it out abit you can see where to cut. I just used side cutters and a blade. I left all the wheels on to do the job. Fitment is good though...

Any chance for more pics of the 2nd and 3rd row? Ive had troubles finding these as they all mostly LHD while im RHD so found some 3dmaxpider??? From aus but no stock. Waiting...

Our 2017 GT is almost exactly 4 years old with 47k miles. Did the spark plugs and replaced the OE battery today.

Plugs were easy to do, bought the NGK from Rock Auto. Only thing that takes some time is moving the bracket above the coil packs, as some of the bolts are hard to access.
Seams to run a little smoother to me.

Also did the AGM battery upgrade that cycle guy posted in the resources section. Group 24F Battery Installation My battery was still going but was turning over slower. Did not want it going out while away from the house. I had not read cycle guys post, but had the same thought of installing the best battery I could find. I got the AGM 24F from Wallyworld for $149. It has 750 CCA compaired to the OE Panasonic at 540, a big improvement. I used my dremel to take out the 4 tabs to allow the fitment of the
the slightly longer group 24F AGM. Very pleased with the results.

Also, vacuumed it. Floor mat carpet is 100000x better than the floor board carpet, annoying but that’s why interior protection is crucial to my sanity.

Changed interior to warm white LEDs. Used to be a big fan of daylight whites, but was getting bothered by them lately lol.

Just came back from a trip to Disneyland. It was a little long but nonetheless, it was a nice drive from the Bay Area to LA. Going there the tank was full of Costco 91 gas but coming back, it was Chevron. I used to be an “only” Chevron guy but switched to Costco gas because gas prices started going up. Plus it is convenient because I just swing by the gas station after picking up Costco goodies. My trip to LA with Costco gas was an average of 23 mpg. That was hand calculated, not relying on the computer. With Chevron gas it was 21 mpg. That was both highway with load, going about 80 mph and tires inflated to 37. That was consistent with my findings before switching to Costco. On my regular everyday drive my average combined was 17 mpg. But after switching, my daily average combined was usually 18-19 mpg. Sorry for the rant, I was just wondering, is my gas mileage too low?

Changed the cabin filter for the upcoming summer road trip season.

February 2020 (when leased from dealer) to July 2021. Old one on the right, new one on the left. A little different than Mazda’s but a perfect fitment and much better price via Amazon.

Got Xpel PPF put on the B and C pillars, I also got it for the center console but I don’t have a picture of that. The piano black was just scratching way too easily, when I got the car new it already had a few. So far I’m very happy with how it looks with the film.

Going to need some extra storage soon, decided to go with a roof carrier basket. Modded the carrier to “fingers crossed” prevent rusting. Caulked all the joints, applied loctite to all the screws and applied 4 coats of krylon truck bed spray. Overall I'm pretty satisfied how it came out and I like the textured look and feel which is almost identical to the OEM crossbars.

Replaced the half-working sequential LED turn signals in the side mirrors with new, sealed units. I just used pry tools to pop the mirror covers off this time, instead of taking the mirror glass out and trying to undo the clips from the inside.

Few LEDs burned out:

New ones in:

These look really cool! Hope they last longer this time. Did you seal them at all before installation?

Yep I did, sealed them with some polyurethane caulk (it was all I had at home haha). They were left to cure for a couple of days. If they fail again I'll just go back to OEM, but I hope they last.

This is one of those mods that I’ll do in a year if you report that they are still working. I recently found out that waterproof ratings are only for non-salt water so I’ll be interested to see how they do through winter. I’m assuming they use salt in Canada?
