Hi, Any ideas how to retrofit auto headlight option? I installed the column combo switch that has the Auto lights option, and fog lights. Fog light work fine.
Is there anything else that needs to be done? a relay? or some other sensor?

Installed: BP8M66122 MAZDA 5 06-09 column mounted, light switch, w/fog lamps, automatic lamps

there's a sensor on the top of the dash board that would need to be wired in... i'm sure there's a ton more work that would need to be done to get them working correctly.

Try to find the wiring diagram for the auto headlights online, that will at least let you know what you are missing. It seems that is one option that wasn't fully wired from the factory on every car.

Did some more research. The auto daylight sensor is part of the rain auto wiper sensor.
Installed on the underside of the rear-view mirror (windshield center) and integrated with the rain sensor as a
single unit.
There are a few available on eBay, but I'm concerned that 1/2 of that sensor is glued to the windshield and would not be supplied from ebay seller. Plus, I would have to find the wire harness and some trim. Maybe too much to deal with. daylight sensor.webp
