I wanted to start this thread because I was told by a few people at the Dealer and read online that Mazda was releasing an major update to our Navi/Audio system this fall.

When, and I hope it is release soon, can someone post any info on this thread. Maybe they make this a stickie. If they deliver what was promised, then it will be a major change for the better in their current sub-par system.

Ugh.. useless. Your dealer says there's something, and 100 others say there's nothing.
So many false sayings from dealers regarding our infotainment unit.
If it's not directly from Mazda on their website or press release or from TomTom, I wouldn't "hope" for anything.

I get so tired of rumors like this & the diesel lovers who keep saying its coming to NA without any proof. That said, I hope your stealer ship is right but I really doubt it.

I can confirm that an fix for the usb problem is just about to get shipped to mazda dealers in Germany.

All dealers in Germany got the OFFiCIAL information from Mazda that the fix is available at the end of July.

The attached image is the mail that the dealers got last week. Unfortunately it is in german language.

The customers in Germany have to file a complaint and then they will get a new hardware (bluetooth module).

My dealer told me that as soon the hardware is listed in is computer system, he will order it.

I will post an update as soon as my dealer informs me that there is some piece of hardware availabale for me.

Cheers, Eric

will the information be sent to customers or just with the dealer as a TSB?

So if I read it: There will be an exchange program for customers that complain connecting USB players / iPod and iPhone to the USB port. There is also going to be a procedure for this and the roll out for instructions to dealers will start in July through MMD (Mazda Motors Deutschland (Germany)) on-line information. The other statement is a bit strange but it says "when connecting a device to the USB port (phone, USB player) it is not possible to end the load time." Whether this update will fix it or not...
So this sort of is in line what my daughter got when she pulled into Mazda when the Bluetooth, USB and iPod were greyed out. I needed to call a number (I think it is Mazda Canada) however in all her haste she misplaced the card. Since my TPMS is constantly popping on I am going to stop in tomorrow afternoon and hear them out.

The statement that they only will replace it when customers are complaining is in my ever so humble opinion not right as someone might never use any of the connectors, sells the car and the next person will not know what to do.... It should be a recall with proper TSB not this piecemeal stuff...

You are so right. Here in Germany there are A LOT of Dealers who dont even know that there is a problem with the usb port and some of them seem to ignore the mails they receive from Mazda.

Hopefully in other countries Mazda will consider a better strategy to fix ALL faulty devices.
